I mean (from just the commercials, at least) that they were trying to play up the sex appeal big time and she isn't that hot.

so I caught about 20 seconds of this at the end of something else I recorded.

Was the laugh track a joke? It seemed so contrived, and kept playing after every single line I figured they must have been doing that on purpose, but my recording shut off and I never got a punchline...or is it really just a horrible laugh track?

I like the husband guy from his appearance on Workaholics... but I watched ~30 seconds of this first episode and could not believe there is a studio audience/laugh track. Didn't know that shows still do this and it was very annoying.

The sexy nurse outfit was really weird. It was supposed to be funny/goofy on the one hand. But I got the impression it was also supposed to be sexy/arousing on the other.

Instead, I was confused and uncomfortable. She had a lot of skin bared, considering it's only ep 1. Like at the end, when she threw her leg over the dude...it was just like her whole butt in your face...and I wasn't quite clear on what I had just watched.

I like Whitney, I think her standup is decent, I even follow her on Twitter. I wanted to like this show, but I couldn't make it through the first episode. It just feels like it's trying too hard and her standup doesn't really translate well to a network sitcom. It's like Lucky Louie only that show wasn't limited by being on a network, but still managed to suck complete ass.

i didnt find it bad enough to turn from it, my girlfriend thought it was cute

im sure the show will make adjustments it can be entertaining

and most shows have laugh tracks its not like its a throw back

then again, we are chelsea lately fans so we may be giving the show a more of a pass then we normally would

you can't say it doesn't, though. sure there are shows that are filmed in front of a live audience, but that doesn't mean you're hearing 100% reaction laughter. it's not uncommon for sitcoms to feature a mix, especially if a joke falls flatter than expected.

personally, i think it's overkill in the first bit of whitney that i saw and negatively affected my viewing.
