People are going to tell you Man-Mur, but there is only like one guy in there that won't fuck up your head.

I go to Professional Barbers in Cary and neither of those two have ever given me a bad haircut.

Man Mur

I've gotten my haircut there since freshman orientation and have never gotten a bad cut

Esquire Haircutters on Hillsborough, or Professional Barber Shop in Cameron Village.

Man-Mur, unless you are a woman or a hippie.

Manmur is good for pretending to be in the military.

I went to the professional barbershop when I was in Raleigh the most. I also had good experiences and esquire, 5 points barber shop, and some place downtown that I currently can't think of the name.

Man-Mur does it well.

So does the barbershop near the Bell Tower, though it has a certain "atmosphere" to it.

I've did Esquire on Hillsborough St. back in undergrad because of its convenience, and because seemed like a small step up from a great clips without being expensive. Don't know if its still that way, but I liked it back then.

When you get married / old and you don't care what people think of your hair anymore you just do that junk yourself. Go out on the deck with the 1 guard on and buzz the whole thing, then ask the wife if I missed any spots.

I've been to both Man Mur and Esquire and like Esquire better. Went there several times actually and they always did a good job. Also The Barbershop near Crossroads (kind of behind Lowe's next to Moe's) is really good, but it's a few minutes drive from campus. $11 for everything and the few times I've gone there I have been happy with the results.

^ yep. Gotta love the hot lather and straight razor. I go to this place in Apex and they do it as well http://www.mensextra.com/

And has Man Mur learned how to sweep up the hair right after cutting it yet or is it still extremely dangerous to walk around in there?

Be careful, many have walked out of there having been Man-Mur-dered. They pretty much have 1 option and thats high and tight.

That's a valid assessment of Esquire.

I used to go somewhere in Cary, years ago. Now, I just let my boyfriend cut my hair. Free, and it's good enough.

I'd say more than a small step up. It's not a trendy salon, but they take the time to do a good job, rather than rushing you in and out. I always ask for Ron when I go there.

I took a razor to my head about two weeks after I got married

Much better than just using a 1 guard because you don't have to worry about missing a spot and it feels so good after you shave it.

I too cut my own hair...with my dog clippers and the shortest guard I have for the sides and the next one up from the top. You can make damn near anything decent with hair goo with the exception of too short.

That said, I did stop by the folks' house last time and get my mom to touch it up. She's pretty good and used to cut it all the time when I was a kid (cuz we were poor and shit).

Lately, I have been looking for some place other than Man-Mur and myself to get my hair cut. I find that the wimmens are a little more critical of my haircut than I am. This thread is relevant to my interests.

I go to Alter Ego down by Moore Square. Ask for Kegan. I'm reaaaallllly picky about my hair and he does well. I'm also a chick, though, so I don't know how he does with man hair

Esquire is where I've always gone. Good people work in there and they give a good haircut. Ronnie is the guy I always get to cut my hair.

Man-Mur never gave me any trouble. If you're looking for something fancier, there's the place next to Player's Retreat. I know is named after two dudes but I am far too lazy to look it up.

Man-Mur fucked my shit up! Completely ignored what I asked for and just proceeded to give me a high and tide (or whatever that shit is called)
