The BF3 Open Beta was released yesterday (Sept 29). Available for free in the PS Store and Xbox Live Marketplace. Open Beta ends October 10. Release Date is October 25.

I attempted to play last night and it did not let me connect to EA servers.

On october 10 are we no longer going to be allowed to play the game or just not allowed to download it anymore?

as for the end of the beta... my guess is after oct 10, the store won't have it available for DL, and you won't be able to access the servers. the game will probably still run, you just can't play it

so glad this thread was made, got tired of reading all the computer spec bullshit in the other thread... yes you bought something fast and with a lot of numbers to go with it, I don't care. I care that the game fucking runs without having to read tech specs for 10 different types of computer components and download drivers and updates etc.

But I wish I had the time to even get on this beta.. I will definitely be getting it when it comes out.

Downloading and been playing the beta a little today. It is so buggy, really annoying. Lots of freezing and glitches. Hopefully they can get all this figured out before the game comes out.

holy shit this game is hard. Even on my big TV I am having the hardest time seeing enemy players across the map. and the couple games I played were already filled with people in prone position hiding in the corners.

D/l'd the beta today.

It's fun. Faster paced than BC2 it feels like. There are things I do and do not like about the graphics, but overall, it's a solid game. It plays smooth, it's tough as nails, and I enjoy it. Hopefully the full release is more along the lines of "amazing" than simply "solid" though.

yea so far the prone position is still pissing me off...hope the vehicle play lets me run over/blow up all those fuckers laying around the levels, hiding in dead bodies, laying down at the end of a really long hallway with no way to get around back etc

also it seems that other players running into me mess up my sniping a lot more than i remember in BF BC2. ill be aiming and someone spawns on me then runs straight into me..

anyway I like the game just some minor pet peeves.

spawning is horrible. Your teammates literally spawn inside of your body which throws you off if you are in the middle of firing any weapon.

Also, prone is terrible, especially in the dark level of the BETA.

Also, i'm not a fan of the damn tactical flashlight.

oh yea i forgot about the blindness that will come from my team pointing their flashlights and lasers in my eyes when i retreat. And I have pretty much given up sniping in the beta level b/c of the spawn thing and every other gun having almost the same range/accuracy as the bolt action rifle and using the environment to eliminate sniping.

but i think it will most of it will be ironed out when the game releases with patches.

anybody else having an issue with hearing the idiots in your squad talking even after you leave the squad? last night there were some kids on there talking in spanish and playing music and it wouldn't stop

also I keep getting stuck halfway in the ground around A in the park, then getting knifed.

vehicle play could go one of 2 ways... either its awesome, or (more likely) the same assholes hiding under the map in the beta will take the vehicles and immediately blow them up/lose them

Enjoy your 24 player DX9 experience, we will stick with 64 players in DX11 on PC in the real BF3 thread. Also you only have to download one thing and it's not even required, it is optional, that being the video card driver that is newly optimized for the engine. They do the same thing on the 360 and PS3 except it just says "Updating" instead of you having a choice like PC players. So in reality PC players with a system built since Windows 7 or Vista can just launch the game assuming they have a computer that is built for gaming.

so...i can't play a game. everyone of my friends is having no issues, except for me. Everytime i try to get into a multiplayer game, it kicks me out and says, "You have lost connection to the session".

where can i find a good review of this online? I don't see one on IGN right now.

are the maps big? Can you fly jets and drive tanks in any map? I've never played a battlefield game before..only COD so I'm not seeing the differences in the main videos i've watched

got the game last night and played for a solid 4-5 hours. it's fun for sure but I can't tell if that is because it's a completely different game than what I've been playing or it's just actually good. we'll see how much I hate it in a couple of days.

at the present moment, i like BC2 better than this one....but there is alot new that needs to get used to.


And they need to fix their servers...its practically impossible to join a game with your squad and stay intact...none of my friends have been able to do it yet. Also, half the time i try to quick join a game, it kicks me from the session

its ridiculous...i've run into more issues with this game than any game i've ever played. Can't get into games, can't get into squads, and just now, it will get to the squads screen and then go black and i can't do anything...so ridiculous
