Cooke Street Carnival 2011: The Sideshow - this coming Saturday (October 15, 2011) All kinds of awesomeness will be going on from 1pm - 6pm. Bring cans for the Food Bank of Eastern NC. Nests, The Tomahawks, and The Small Ponds are playing the main stage. I'll will be filling in all day with the Fritocaster, and I'll have all the 919 y'all shirts, stickers, and whatnot available for purchase. Come on out! (http://cookestreetcarnival.com)

it's probably a good idea to have a carnival while the state fair is going on. I'd much rather attend a carnival than the fair.

CSC has never suffered from a lack of attendance. Plus it has beer. And homemade barbecue. And OnlyBurger.

Basically, it rules.

If you live near this thing or know somebody that lives on Cooke St, it's worth it. I personally wouldn't drive any amount of distance for it.

The beer last year was Aviator (gross), and Only Burger showed up late and had a limited menu and a huge line. I don't remember anything about homemade BBQ, but not sure it matters if it's homemade as long as it's worth a damn...

There were other food trucks there well before Only Burger showed up, so there wasn't a lack of food.

I had a good time last year.

Carolina Brewing company and Aviator Beer will be out there today.

4 food trucks confirmed as of last night (didn't catch names, but I'm pretty sure Klausey's Pizza is one of them)

Come by and see me at the House of Swank Yurt. Can't miss it!
