What haunted houses are worth going to this year?

Also, has anyone been to the Haunted House in Garner that there's a groupon for? http://tinyurl.com/3tg3zhy

Might go to woods of terror this year. I was disappointed with Spookywoods last year.

do the individual attractions seem to have peaks and valleys through the years in terms of quality?

and back to my earlier post, we should have the option of signing a waiver and maybe paying a little more to wear like a red tape or something saying that they can touch me or rough me up (pause)

i think the only problem i had with spoookywoods was they let too many people in at a time and in addition the groups broke up too much, u had to struggle to be in perfect position to be scared, otherwise youd see it coming or the guy would get back into position in time to scare the other halves of the group. I even feel like i got skipped because i was in between two big groups and they saved their effort to get the bigger scares, fair play to them i get it but sucks for me.

which is why i would like to maybe find a different haunted place that historically manages that better?

They don't want the guests touching the actors so actors touching the guests would be a bad idea.

I went to one in Western Va called Spookyworld, it was pretty good. Nice acting, one of the rooms had a chick constantly trying to crawl toward the guests and getting dragged back while crying for help, I noted that I bet after like 4 hours of that her nipples are pretty chafed.

Netherworld was even better than usual this year, especially the second "house" Raw Meat. They did an undead infested subway theme.

Generally if you go more than a week before Halloween it seems like you get better attention from the staff. Practicing for the big day I guess.

Of the 3 times I've been to Spookywoods, I've had incidental contact every time. First time I went I straight up had a guy pin me against the wall and hold a (dulled-edge) knife to my throat. Sure, you know it's fake, but you still feel the cold metal on your throat. It was awesome.

My group has 5-7 people, so we always get to go through the castle by ourselves. It's much better that way, as BigHitSunday said...

Has anyone been to Panic Attack in Wilmington (this year or last)?

The owner supposedly dropped a half a million dollars into it last year, and the few people I heard from said it was great...

^^ Howl-O-Scream was great this year. The tower 13 in Ireland and the carnival tent in Italy were both better than anything they have done in the last 5 years.

Panic Attack sounds interesting.

I do got a $20 coupon off of regular admission for Howl-O-Scream. I want to do a haunted house before Halloween. I have to decide what I want to do.

Can't rememberthe name of the place, but its out around Burlington. It's inside and outside on like a farm and they bring in all kinds of bigwigs with the Hollywood make-up scene. Pretty quality if I remember right, but I was pretty shitfaced the time I went

Went to Panic Attack this weekend. it was pretty good. Costumes and scenes were well done. I dont want to ruin it but there are some unusual things like crawling on the floor and getting sprayed by water in the face.

Anyone been to any this year?

Only ones I'm aware of our Clayton Fear Farm and Haunted Forest at Cedar Point in Youngsville. I'm thinking of going to one this weekend, haven't been to one in years.

I don't do these things because I don't trust drunk rednecks running around while operating chainsaws and if they had the mental faculties to remove the chain.
