I apologize in advance for using TWW for this shameless self-promotion, but I need your votes.

For those of you outside of Charlotte, 1110AM is one of the major news/talk stations in the area. The 50K watts reach a pretty wide geographical area, especially at night. They are currently running a promotion, "The Next Talker," where listeners can submit an entry for a chance to win their own radio program on Sunday nights from 6-8pm. I decided to enter the contest. I'm a Poli Sci grad from '03 so naturally I think I should have my own talk show. The basic idea would be to utilize the less restrictive time slot on a Sunday night to try to actually have a conversation about the issues of the day with callers and guests and come to a resolution using reason and logic. After a really slow start, there have been some very good entries and it appears more are forthcoming. Voting for the first round goes from today until Sunday so if you're susceptible to tribalistic appeals, go vote for one of your own and help me prove the dominance of NCSU and TWW over all other groups.

I haven't met too many TWW folks in my day but among the few that I have I am proud to count GoldieO among them. While we may not exactly agree politically, he's a very reasonable and respectful individual. He may not post in TSB very often but then again with the plethora of crazy running around who can blame him? So why not take the 5 seconds and support his idea? TSB could really use a lot more people like him (even if he is a conservative. )

You've got adequate wit, but you don't sound at all like you're speaking naturally. I don't think you have any potential for radio. Sorry bro.

^^ I hope he's not one of the many that have been arrested over the past few weeks. I attended the first event at the Occupy Charlotte gathering back in early October, but it looks like the Raleigh gathering is a little more enthusiastic. I'm one of the few people I know to have attended a Tea Party event in '09 and an Occupy event in '11.

As for my stances on the things I argue about, like HockeyRoman said, there's a reason I don't post often in TSB, although I do lurk from time to time.
