just wins. It might be ugly, it might not be sustainable beyond this season, but somehow he just wins.

I like it because everyone was all "he can't do it" and he was all "whatever, watch me do it"

Or maybe the other team only managed 13 points and Denver's defense scored 7 of their 17 points.

He won the game all by himself.

No one else contributed to the win. Tebow possessed all of the other players and that's the only reason they won.

nope, still awful

it is funny how the narrative on ESPn has changed, thou. when he first came in as a starter, it was "well this isn't fair, the OL sucks, he's going to get destroyed, no one can win." this morning it was "tons of credit to the OL - they're just a great unit"

the narrative is "he got lucky when a few bad teams laid down for him"

I hope he keeps winning just so that denver gets even more crushed when the reality hits that he sucks

His team might be winning right now, but Tebow still sucks giant monkey balls as a QB and we all know it, even though some seem to have trouble admitting it.

ok, if we're gonna make the team argument, what was denver's record before tebow became a starter?

not saying he's the only reason they're winning but you have to admit that for some explicable reason, they're 4-1 with him as a starter.

This reminds me of when Miami started using the Wildcat out of the blue a few seasons ago. They got some wins until other NFL teams remembered how to stop the Wildcat (I think it happened the next season though). Now it's pulled out by multiple teams as a trick play when nobody expects it but basing an offense around it won't work.

Switching to an option mid-season to accommodate Tebow will be successful until other teams begin adjusting. There's a reason the option isn't run as often in the NFL, even QBs who are successful with it can't seem to get over the hump. Eventually teams will remember that they just have to force Tebow to beat them with his arm and Denver's momentum will fall apart.

Also, it helps when you can hold your opponent under 15 points a game. At that point it's not so much Tebow winning the game as it is the defense winning the game and Tebow not screwing up.

They've got the Chargers and the Vikings next. The Chargers already beat Tebow once and could do it again. The Vikings may just roll over. After that it's the Bears, the Pats, the Bills, and the Chiefs. Start talking about Tebow if he can go 2-2 during that stretch.

I don't dislike Tebow because of the football player he is. I dislike him as a person and what he stands for, all that bible thumping, rah-rah jesus bullshit is annoying, unneeded, shows a lack of critical thought and is offensive.

You do realize that the Rah-Rah Jesus stuff has been going on in the NFL for a lot longer than Tebow, right?

I mean, how often are players thanking God for wins or good individual performances. Even the kneeling after a game or big play isn't new, there are lots of players who have done that over the years.

Tebow just takes it the extra step of showing up in anti-abortion commercials and doing mission trips.

The Broncos were actually most successful last night when they were going 5 wide on the final drive.

And as far as all the "rah rah, bible thumping"...compared to the Mike Vick/Pacman Jones/countless other dumbasses is it really that bad or do you just not agree with him?

More of a product of ESPN than Tebow himself. I too, disliked Tebow in college, but it was mostly because of the way ESPN and the media portrayed him... He really doesn't go out of his way to "bible thump", he just goes about his business and the networks focus in on it...

I don't think its bigoted or intolerant to not want someone's particular belief system shoved down my throat.

You wouldn't like it if I carried on about the all powerful Zeus and took every opportunity that my platform as a gifted athlete afforded me to spout nonsense.

I don't like racist people. Does it make me a bigoted, intolerant moron to think that white supremacist shouldn't be allowed to spout their nonsense? It's the same thing.

Because at every press conference Tebow stands up and preaches to the media...

And if Tebow was trying to bible thump, he would have "Tebowed" after scoring that TD. Instead he celebrated like many other Broncos and gave the Mile High Salute. Yes, he "Tebowed" on the sidelines later, but he saved that for a more personal time.

^i will agree that a lot of it is hyped by ESPN, and he has cooled down since college when he wrote Bible verses on his face paint.

I wouldn't be Tebowing after a touchdown either if everyone in the nation was making fun of me.

And in press conferences he does thank god etc. God seems to spend a lot of time blessing white people and not much time blessing others.

No black athlete has ever thanked God after a game. No athlete has ever pointed up at the sky after a TD.

And thanking God is forcing his religion down your throat. Good to know...

lol, no i was making a comparison about the poison of religion in comparison to the poison of racism. It's the same silly belief structure that allows people to explain horrible things in the name of a flawed belief structure. That is a huge leap to make to saying spouting nonsense is nonsense to Tebow is a supremacist.

I would like to see your source on that number. I would not call them idiots, I would say they have been tricked or have yet to actually A)read their holy text or b)can't remove themselves far enough away from their fear and dogma to objectively question their fairy-tales.

Christian's and Muslims know very much what it is to be an atheist in regards to every religion but there own. They apply critical thinking to every religion but their own. Allah can't be god, Jesus can't be the Son etc. They don't apply the same thinking to their own.

If you were to tell a devout follower of a religion that their spouse were cheating on them or that eating a certain brand of food could improve one of their senses, they would look for empirical proof of these claims. If, however, you tell that same believer that the book on their nightstand (that they most likely haven't read) is the infallible word of god, they require no proof and say, yup, must be right.

Also, only 7% of the National Academy of Scientist Members are religious, the rest reject it. Religiosity has also been linked to Lower IQ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religiosity_and_intelligence.

Furthermore, no one is born a muslim, jew, christian or hindu just like no one is born a racist. It is a trait inherited. That doesn't make it right or good.

Hitler was a devout christian, to say otherwise is a egregious slap in the face of actual facts. Hitler frequently spoke positively about the Christian German culture,[2] and his belief in an Aryan Christ.[11] Before his ascension to power, Hitler stated before a crowed in Munich: "My feeling as a Christian points me to my Lord and Savior as a fighter. It points me to the man who once in loneliness, surrounded only by a few followers, recognized these Jews for what they were and summoned men to fight against them and who, God's truth! was greatest not as a sufferer but as a fighter. In boundless love as a Christian and as a man I read through the passage which tells us how the Lord at last rose in His might and seized the scourge to drive out of the Temple the brood of vipers and adders. How terrific was his fight against the Jewish poison. Today, after two thousand years, with deepest emotion I recognize more profoundly than ever before the fact that it was for this that He had to shed his blood upon the Cross. As a Christian I have no duty to allow myself to be cheated, but I have the duty to be a fighter for truth and justice."[12] Adolf Hitler

The crusades, current islamist terrorism, the inquisitions are all faith based. I'm not saying Stalin was good he was just as misguided.

I was thinking there were more people associated with Hinduism, so I typed religion percentages in google and that came up.

And as far as Tebow is concerned... not a hater, I just hate hearing people drone on and on about him - positive or negative.

You could say the same with atheism.

I don't have a dog in the hunt either way, but you say you hate Tim Tebow because he forces God down your throat because he prays after making a touchdown (not new) and yet here you are, trollling up a sports talk thread about how the majority of the world are complete fools and you know it all because you don't believe in a religion. You're the Tim Tebow of atheism.

^i said that I could very well be wrong. It is likely that I am wrong and I'm fine with the idea that I could be wrong. I've made my bed. Atheism could very much be an inherited trait, but I also think it is more likely to come to it by looking at all the facts and making a decision on your own.

Have I been overly combative, sure. Is Tebow free to belief whatever he wants, of course he is. My beef isn't with a personal belief, by beef is that belief, as it stands right now isn't personal. It is influencing the way America is run. If all peoples belief structures could be reasonable and not influence their world view but just be a way to pray or meditate and encourage them to only do good, that would be fine. I suspect, though, that if that were the case, there would be no religion.

This is an all things TEBOW thread and his overt religion is very much who he is.

So, since Hitler was a Christian, and Hitler was bad, then Christianity is bad? Religion is then bad? You can take anything and twist it the way you want to in that case. There are thousand of years worth of examples for you to choose from.

There's logic for you.

You can draw connections from all walks of faith to something evil. The same could be said for atheists.

Wait a second...I'm arguing about religion on the internet...wtf am I doing?

^ I never said that. Whoever made the argument that he was a atheist was misguided.

Was Hitler insane and misguided of course he was. Was he using the Bible as an excuse to do bad, maybe. Does that make all Christians Hitler...OF COURSE NOT. That would be an insane argument. All Christians aren't bad, that wasn't my argument. My argument was and remains that religion, blindly believed and followed, without objective questioning can be dangerous.

Are all muslims terrorist, no. Do devout followers of islam sometimes commit terror acts in the name of their god, yes.

Are all Christians westboro baptist church, no. Do those christians use their interpretation of their chosen religious text as an approval for the horrendous hate they practice, yes.

Its an old quote I'm sure everyone is familiar with that I will paraphrase. Without religion evil men are evil and good men are good. Only with religion can good men become evil.

I've derailed this thread far too much than I intended too. If anyone would like to attack my thoughts personally or if they would like to continue debating, I would be fine with that...Just send something to my inbox.

Sorry if I upset you all.

This phrase is okay and all but I don't agree with it. Evil exists everywhere, with or without religion. Decent people, both religious and non-religious, who have lived kind, law abiding lives have still snapped and done some pretty horrendous things.

Tebow sucks, and him winning these games only means that John Fox has to draft a quarterback with a lower position in the first round.

They certainly aren't doing anything with Tebow that would make him worth ANYTHING in a trade, amirite? Would any team trade (say, a 4th round pick) for Tebow right now?
