holy shit the first 1ish-2 missions in this game are INSANE but then the next 2 hours you do the same thing in a variety of locations.

This has been a Krallum presentation

I rented it from redbox (only able to play Skyrim Fri-Sun so I need something to play during the week)

Been pretty sweet so far.

that game got annoying because the over the top cartoonishness just got stupid and unrealistic. like some missions there would be hundreds of enemies just flying onto the screen, ramming cars, etc.

Wasn't that part of the appeal for fans of part 2? People were tired of the move toward realism in the GTA series so they liked the over the top craziness of SR2.

How is this installment... compared to part 2 I guess? Too many games out right now. Skyrim, Skyward Sword, still have to get Deus Ex, Arkham City.

Good times, I'm enjoying it thus far. The style is much different than SR2. I thought the world in SR2 was much better, more diverse areas that had their own feel to them (like the trailer park, downtown, etc). All the areas seem to run together and feel the same in The Third. It seems much harder to get rid of notoriety "organically" now, if you have more than 1 star you might as well just run into a building you own because I have yet to have it reduce just from evading the enemies.

I really like the weapons upgrade feature. I have pistols to level 4 and I rarely use anything else now. Just right-click zoom, headshot almost every time. The RC gun is fun too. I hid and used RC to drive a big truck into a gang operation and proceeded to run over almost all of the gang there before going in and finishing off the last few that the truck couldn't get to.

If you are playing on PC, add me on steam: opstand. Maybe we can do co-op.

Any other reviews/reports on this game? Must not be that good to have so few posts.

Its funny but I found the gameplay to just be meh. Glad I didn't pay full price.

I loved it. Two was the better game, imo, but there were so many parts of The Third that I would stop the game just so I could go, "Did you just see that?" to whomever else was in the room. Also, there's just something gleeful about BASE jumping from your VTOL while wearing a purple steam punk outfit.

Or skydiving through a plane... agree on 2 being a better game
