I saw the director's second film ("Merentau") and the dialogue was beyond terrible but the fight scenes were pretty amazing. He features an Indonesian martial art called Silat in his films that hasn't been seen much (if at all) on screen.

Go see this movie. Right now. It is fucking incredible, pretty much nonstop action, and some of the best fight sequences i've seen in a long time.

Bttt. Picked this up at red box last night and it was amazing. Probably one of the most fun films I've seen in awhile. I turned off the terrible English dubbing early and went with subtitles which made a big difference. The fighting was intense and the final fight was unreal. Will definitely watch again soon.

The Raid: Redeption is fucking awesome. One of the best movies i've seen. Watched it like 6 times the first weekend i got it

idk if the remake is out yet but i heard it had Xzhibit so it has to be terrible.

After seeing rave reviews for this from a bunch of friends on FB, I decided to give it a look last night. I must admit, it's pretty damn epic. It also established, in my mind, that there are no violent action movies made in the US. Not compared to this thing. There were a ton of "OOOhhhhhh shiiiiit!" moments through-out.

Like guns, blood, and tons of ass-kicking? Then go ahead and hit up Redbox.

seriously you have to see this movie.

The cool thing is that it doens't have the typical retarded asian martial arts style plot (aka Ong Bak series). Its no Gone with the wind, but the plot is just barely good enough to keep the badassery rolling, without bogging down the flow of the movie.

I was a little disappointed in 2. The action scenes were outstanding, but it seems like they took the complaints that some had about #1's plot not being deep enough and went waaaay too far in the other direction, ending up with a confusing mess, but still enjoyable
