I saw a new A8 drive the opposite way on Buck Jones Rd. a few weeks ago. It was dark outside and I immediately noticed the headlights. They were very bright, but not blinding. They didn't look like ordinary HIDs. As the car passed I noticed the headlights were actually LEDs. I was impressed and can't wait for the technology to trickle its way down to more economic vehicles.

I test drove the A7 last week. It was the supercharged 3.0 model with 300 hp and Quattro.

Damn it sounded awesome, and handling was very good too. Lovely interior, and award-winning very unique exterior. Well, maybe not as unique, considering the Panamera has the same overall shape, but the Panamera is ugly from the back.

Also test drove the 120 hp A1. I swear I could have beaten it (running on foot) in a 50 meter race. Lovely interior, as it was the S-Line model, but acceleration was practically non-existent. I don't see why anybody would pay $30,000 for a 120 hp 3-door hatchback with no acceleration. I bet the 150 hp and 180 hp models are nice, but the one I drove was crap.

Speaking of Audi designs, this is relevant:

^I like them too. I liked them more when you could tell them apart though.

I've been an Audi fan since my family owned a 5000S in the early 90's. That was one of the cars I learned to drive in, and while it was overall kind of a nightmare to maintain, it drove well and looked good. Almost bought an A6 a few years ago as well.

Also, how about an Audi that never existed? Found this guy in Durham earlier this year:

It's a 1991 Audi 200 Avant with the front sheetmetal from an Audi V8 Quattro--there was no V8 Quattro wagon in the lineup. The factory did make one and only one V8 Quattro Avant, especially for the wife of Ferdinand Piech, but that one is in the Audi Museum these days.

I really like the designs on some of these cars, but are they any more reliable than a VW?

^ That's always been my concern as well.

There's a sweet looking Audi Allroad Wagon with a 6-speed, leather, and just a tad over 100k miles on NCEuro.org.

I've always liked the look of these for some reason.

no but it seems that VAG setups are either lemons or they're not so buying one used if it hasn't had an extensive repair done on it yet... you're probably good to go.

Ahh, my current old man ride is below. I got a suh-weet deal on it from a family member (10k for it, 2006 w/45k miles at the time) and couldnt pass it up. I plan on selling it sometime soon and spending the sale proceeds on 75% fun car, 25% beater (though I might just buy an old legacy gt, a3, 330 or something).
