I can see if you were broke to ask this question, but don't you have a large salary from working overseas that you can afford to try it and find out?

I was totally ready to sign up one time, then I noticed that it still doesn't have all the seasons of most shows, just the most recent couple of seasons.

GeniuSxBoY, I have saved up plenty of money to last me while I'm in school. However, part of savings come from making informed choices on what to buy, sure it's 7.99 a month that I could easily spend to see if it's worth it, but that's 8 bucks I could spend on something else or save. Small shit adds up.

Yeah, heaven forbid someone want to be responsible with their money.

I use Netflix, bbehe, and personally, I think it's worth it, but I'm also not paying for school right now (well.... I'm paying my loans off, but I have a fulltime job). I'd say skip it until you graduate. Keeping those extraneous expenses to a minimum is smart and pays off in the long run.

A lot of people can't really see the big picture and make dumb decisions in the short term... you know, like getting an impressive engineering degree and then wasting it on opening a shitty pizza shop.

I Like Hulu Plus because they have TV episodes like the day after they air a lot of times. The movie selection is meh. The video quality is much better than Netflix IMO.

I can just picture GeniuSxBoy sitting in his pizza shop trying to convince himself how awesome he is on TWW so he can somehow make himself feel better that all anyone has to do is mention what he HASN'T ended up doing with his degree in order to laugh at him.

Would you consider it being responsible if the Kardashians saved $8? What are they being responsible for?

Do they not have a trial period? either way, it's only $8. Just bring your lunch one day rather than eating out and you pretty much break even.

^And that's a good point. Just buy it for a month and see. Usually when you first get services like this, you use it a ton then it tapers off in the following weeks.

If you're finishing classes, still might be better saving your 8 bucks for a few drinks on the weekends or after exams, but it's your call. Either way, kudos for guarding your money.

I consider anyone avoiding making a uninformed decision that costs them money is fiscally responsible. You don't become rich (unless you win the lotto or come into a windfall some other way) without saving money. It's not like you just go out and say "Hey, I'm going to save 1000 dollars today!". Small things add up, so does the interest on a mutual fund, savings account, etc.

btw, this is why I stick to Star Trek threads,

Come on people, it is WAAAAAAY more responsible to spend $8 on a six pack of beer versus taking a month subscription to a streaming site.

Hey, if you think sitting in your room watching Hulu is better for relaxing after exams compared to getting a couple $0.50 drinks at 5 O'Clock Bar, then that's your opinion. My experience is I didn't have the vast time to spend watching Hulu when I was a junior and senior, but I did have the time to get a couple drinks after exams and on weekends.

I'm assuming that given how you turned out GeniuSxBoy, I'm assuming you have a very different experience.

This is a concept that the general public doesn't understand. I seriously doubt you're going to convince TWW posters of the same.

I love Hulu plus - but I would say think of what shows you like to watch first before getting it. For example, it doesn't offer a lot of FX shows I believe but up has a lot of stuff on NBC. And, some shows don't get updated weekly so I would look into that first too

dude, you spent $80 on tww premie and have spent probably at least an hour researching/justifying an $8. in that same time, a minimum wage employee would bought it, gone to work, and broke even.

^Actually, I only paid $15, but whatever makes you feel like you proved me wrong, I guess.

Besides, I'm assuming bbehe isn't working a fulltime job right now. If he is then, yeah, I'd agree that you probably piss away more than $8 in any given week so go ahead and get the Hulu service.

It's worth it for us.

We live in a fairly rural area where cable isn't available and the digital signal for regular tv is pretty shitty. Rather than deal with satellite, we have Hulu Plus AND Netflix. In comparison to satellite, it's really inexpensive. Netflix is better for movies, but Hulu is best for current television. Also, once you go to Hulu +, you can watch multiple seasons of a show like on Netflix instead of the most recent episodes. If we had to cut something, we'd probably cut the Netflix before cutting Hulu.

^^Yeah that's reeeeeeeeeeally annoying. No commercials on The Criterion Collection, though

I honestly feel like with Hulu and Netflix there will never be another instance in which I want to watch a movie and can't find an interesting one. It's pretty much impossible.
