anyone know what happened to him? used to have tenure at Duke and guest lecture at State and UNC. he taught HI 251/252 and some independent studies. Best professor I ever had but he fell off the face of the map and Duke doesn't even have him listed anymore.

I remember him, I took his 'Early American History' class in summer session II of '09. I think the last time he taught was spring '10 then he left. maybe he quit teaching? I don't use facebook but have you tried looking him up there? I think he showed us his fb page during class one day after one of the field trips

I had his class 5 years ago. Probably the only history class I ever looked forward to attending.

yeah he was a great professor. I used to meet with him for drinks once every couple of months even after I graduated. last I heard he had a few unexpected deaths in his immediate family and I haven't heard from him since. hope he didn't quit teaching, he was one of the best - if not the best.

[Edited on January 23, 2012 at 8:06 PM. Reason : couldn't find him on FB. may try to contact history dept. and see if they have info]

try emailing him or calling him, I believe he gave those out in class or did he stop answering? if you get into contact with him let him know I said hey. and he only taught HI 251/252 the American history courses.
