There's information circulating the interwebs that you can add in a "mobile hotspot feature" on 4G phones for $30/month and get unlimited data back. People are claiming everything from it's a glitch to a carry over from their unlimited 4G promotion before going to tiered data.
I'm just curious to if it has any truth. If so I'll definitely switch. If I could take dmidkiff over to the dark side with me I'd totally do it - best rep in the business. 12/20/2011 10:52:27 PM |

^I've heard the same thing regarding the unlimited data loophole and apparently it works. You add the hotspot feature and then remove it after and the uncapped plan sticks.

I have another question about data... Will verizon let you get a smart phone, but set your phone so that it does not use their network, and only uses WiFi??? (sick of paying data for my phone, data for wife's phone, and paying TWC for internet... we don't need to pay for internet access 3 times) 1/20/2012 7:37:17 AM |

i think with any smartphone they require you to get a data plan
[Edited on January 20, 2012 at 7:58 AM. Reason : other than that, there is an option on android phones to turn off data] 1/20/2012 7:56:00 AM |

You can get the 75MB data plan for the stupidly high sum of $10; but that's the cheapest they have.
