I was surprised that there wasn't already a thread about this show. Essentially it's about a bunch of British juvenile delinquents that end up with super powers. It's a good mix of crude humor and action. It's been renewed for a 4th season and you can watch the previous episodes on hulu:

Enjoy!

So good. I haven't watched any of the second season yet though.

Also, they play some great music.

I just finished up watching the 3rd season last week, and could not believe that it got picked up for a 4th one after the way it ended.

As much as I like it, I think it would have been best for it to have ended after the third. Usually UK shows know the proper time to to end, even if it seems "early" by US standards.

Either way, I do wonder how many of the main characters will be back for S4.

just finished season 2. like it a lot so far. so sheehan doesn't come back after season 2? do they just replace him with a different actor for the character of nathan? i think i'd prefer they just lose the character entirely. hard to imagine another actor pulling off the same character as well.

It's a new character, but it's kind of obvious that they just replaced the weird pervy awkward looking white guy with another weird pervy awkward white guy and used the same scripts they had probably already written. The two characters aren't exactly the same, but they're similar enough.

Simon: [talking about a one-night stand of Rudy's] So are you going to call her?
Rudy: No, and I'll tell you why: When you buy a dog, right, you know that one day, the dog, it'll grow old and it'll die and oh, you're just gonna be heartbroken, you loved that dog, it was just a cheeky little scamp. Here's an idea, don't buy the fucking dog. Save everyone the bastard hassle. It's better to make her cry a little bit now, than break her heart in three years when she's in love with me and we've bought a bunch of shitty furniture together; it's just the humane thing to do, isn't it?"

^^ while i agree that the characters are very similar, there were some episodes that utilized his ability, so they couldn't easily have used nathan's script verbatim

i like rudy

All the characters got new powers at the start of the new series anyway, so they just as easily could have had written it where Nathan had the power that Rudy ended up having.

I think Rudy works, especially the way the power characterizes the different sides of his personality. While I loved Nathan's character (especially during the whole Nathan-Simon episode), Rudy still needs some time. Nathan came with more of a back story; they need to do that with Rudy to make him into more of a believable character.

I can't imagine where this show is going after the series three finale. Also, they've lost so many actors including Iwan Rheon (Simon), Antonia Thomas (Alisha)( ), and Lauren Socha (Kelly), not to mention Robert Sheehan (Nathan) from series one and two.

Skins has an entirely new cast every two years. Although their recent stuff isn't as good as the cast from the first two seasons, it's still good.

Oh, I don't think it'll be bad. I'm sure it'll be hilarious and messed up like always, but I'm just wondering what the plot will be with Alisha and Simon doing their time loop thing and Kelly gone for who knows why (her actress's legal troubles :spin.

I realized on episode three that I couldn't even remember their names. Speaking of which, Joseph Gilgun is a really talented actor; before episode three, I never appreciated his ability to emote and convey characterization via expression and body posture. It really comes across in episode three. While his character's not Nathan, I think he's a real asset to the show.

I honestly expected him to die in the first few episodes. I was waiting for him to fuck with Rudy 3 and end up dead.

The best episodes so far this season are the House party white rabbit one and the one with the 3 Rudys

It definitely picked up a bit in the last half of the season. It was weird to me that during the last "big scene" on the finale, I kept wondering to myself where the rest of the crew was and then it hit me that everybody that was still on the show was already there. Seems like so many people were missing and half the people that are there now were just tacked on at the last minute in order to have more than 3 main people. Still, if they get picked up for a 5th series, I'll watch.
