With Manning leaving, our linebackers are a question mark. I think there is talent, but we could have used his experience for another year.

Green - Lucas if he's recovered - Some combination of Peek/Pittman/Rose/Johnson

Hopefully Lucas comes back. He's always looked like a good player who, for whatever reason, never was given a shot to start.

DJ Green looked pretty good before the injury, especially in pass coverage.

Other than, take your pick between Michael Peak, Ryan Cheek, and a bunch of other unknowns. Or there's always the off-chance we move a guy like Brandon Bishop to LB and play Donald Coleman at SS.

^ Why would you move one of our most productive/experienced safeties to LB?? He's also not the fasted guy on the field...and the extra 30 lbs that he would need to play LB would slow him down even more.

If any safety were to move up, I'd say it would be Johnson.

Rickey Dowdy was listed on the two-deep late in the season at OLB. He'll be a redshirt junior.

What are we looking at for wr/te? I know most of our line is back so I'm sure we will have to rely on passing since they can't open holes in the run game.

Mustafa should help a lot though at picking up some tough yardage

Talent, but not an over abundance.
mario carter and Asa Watson will be solid at TE
Quentin Peyton, Hakeem Flowers, Palmer and Bryan underwood should give us a solid receiving corps.

So what's up with our players coming from the south end zone at the begging of the game, but going to the north endzone during half time?

Yeah when they built that new Murphy Center I guess they messed up the design (or maybe it was by design), but the players wouldn't have time to make it all the way back to the locker room in the Murphy Center, so they use the old locker rooms at halftime.

I know we are supposed to open up next year against UT in the Georgia Dome on 9/1/12...

But while talking with friend who is a Clemson Alum today (said he would still be trying to lick his wounds from the WVU beatdown this weekend) he said they open next year against Auburn in the Georgia Dome on 9/1/12.

UT's athletic department's website lists our game on their official schedule and I have found some other random sites validating the Clemson v Auburn game.

Are they really planning on playing 2 games in the Dome on 9/1? Or has Clemson game been cancelled/moved?

^Both games are listed on the Chic-fil-a kickoff wiki page, FWIW.

"ATLANTA -- The Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game will be a doubleheader in 2012.

Officials announced Saturday that Auburn will face Clemson in a season-opening game at the Georgia Dome, joining a previously announced contest between Tennessee and N.C. State. Specific times and dates for the two games have not been determined.

Chick-fil-A Bowl president Gary Stokan says having two games on the opening weekend "will create a kickoff experience that's never been seen before." The announcement came hours before Auburn hosted Clemson in the first of a home-and-home series.

LSU defeated North Carolina in this year's kickoff game."

Thanks.

Wiki says one will more than likely be on Thursday or Monday. Wonder who they will move if that is the case.

I've been told that Chick-Fil-A is waiting on a number of things to be resolved to figure out when the 2 games can be played. One game will obviously be played Saturday and they're trying to figure out when the other will be. Main thing in the NFL schedule. Falcons have first dibs on the Georgia Dome and its possible they'll be playing their last preseason game at home Thursday night. Georgia State has second dibs and they've opened the season on Friday night the past few years. Then SEC's contract prohibits them from playing on Friday nights to prevent conflict with HS games.

Possibilities are Thursday night if the Falcons have an away game. Getting an exemption and cutting Georgia State a fat check for Friday, and Monday for game 2. Sunday is doubtful.

no, but the program is on year two or three I think, so obviously dont have their own stadium yet.

Should be an interesting opening game.

I think the real reason they decided to add Auburn vs. Clemson is that they realized they had NC State vs. Tenn and got scared about the ratings...

I heard the hotels in that area are already pretty much filled up from people anticipating the games and DragonCon is going on that weekend... Some large convention

Murphy locker rooms are on ground level, same level as the practice fields. Use them for practice over 100 times per year. Use the Finley Field House locker rooms for games 7-8 times per year.

Labor Day weekend is by far the best weekend in Atlanta each year. SO many people in town, kick off of college football (not just the games in Atlanta), etc. Great weekend.

When can we expect tickets to go on sale? I'm not worried about a hotel, since my parents live there, but I'd like to take my Dad to the game for his 50th birthday.
