Weird that isn't in scope (or at least the trailer isn't). Looks good though.

Saw it tonight, definitely worth seeing. I didn't even know what it was (wife took me) and I was pleasantly surprised, great cast, great acting, pretty funny movie.

i thought the limited release was may 25 and the wider(er) release was June 1st. But that doesn't seem to be the case. Does anyone know when this will be released to more theaters? Or someplace in/around Raleigh?

I loved this. Probably my third favorite after Royal Tenenbaums and Rushmore.

It takes serious skill to make a good movie with child actors, let alone one that is a comedy.*

*I unfortunately just watched the first 10 minutes of the last airbender. That was the worst case scenario

I read somewhere that the main girl character had never acted outside of a school play before this movie. Pretty impressive.

Not gonna lie, I was completely infatuated with her.

Both the leads actually, so much of the charm was in their body language and expressions. It all felt so real.

Ruled. Only Schwartzman came close to overdoing it, and his character called for it.

Suzy was the exact same character as the young Margot Tenenbaum, right down to the eye shadow. Not that I'm complaining.

A+ would/will watch again.

I understood the lead boy for the most part, but I feel like I would have shared more laughs had I understood a few more of his lines.

Overall, it's up there with Life Aquatic as one of Wes Anderson's more light-hearted films.

My initial reaction is that I like this better than any Anderson movie other than Tenenbaums and Life Aquatic.

Solid, though I only truly judge Wes Anderson films after a few viewings

right now I feel like the lightning thing was unnecessary, although why I would find that goofier than anything in any of his other movies is beyond me

About where I'd put it: it's no Tenenbaums

closest moment for me was the very end when he waved to her in his police uniform, but compared to everything else he's done I did think it was light hearted

dont get me wrong, I thought it was great

I'd probably go tenenbaums>life aquatic>rushmore>moonrise>darjeeling

Well, as you all know gangstas like me don't cry, but I kinda wish I was the teary eyed type for the moment when his scout master told him that if he could have inspected the camp when the two were caught, he would have gave him commendable since it was the best pitched tent set up he had ever seen.

Yeah, I was struck by just how dark it was at times. There were a couple of moments where I thought Anderson was about to get really cold-blooded with the ending.

^ I had the same fear, but he came through with a brilliant ending, just like he always does

I liked this one, but it rates second-to-last in my Wes Anderson list (Royal Tenenbaums > Darjeeling Limited > Rushmore = Fantastic Mr. Fox > Moonrise Kingdom > Life Aquatic = Bottle Rocket)

I felt like there were too many big stars giving uninspired performances (Harvey Keitel being the worst offender). It lacked the emotional wallop of Roya Tenenbaums and Darjeeling Limited. Also, the sexual shit with 12-year-olds was a little over-the-top/ icky.

other than the very end with people dangling it wasn't really dark, not as dark as his other movies

The Life Aquatic has a lot of problems. Not saying I'd put it at the bottom, but there's a lot to complain about.

I'm not sure how someone could think the very limited sex stuff was over the top. It was every bit as comically sterile and awkward as it would be in real life.

In other news, why is Bill Murray always getting cheated on in these flicks?
