Would anyone here be interested in starting a fantasy baseball league again this season? Last year's was pretty decent despite some teams dropping during the dog days of summer. Figured I'd see if there was some interest here before going through other venues.

I wouldnt mind doing it again this year. It is definitely a bit harder to keep up with than say football having to keep tabs on your roster every day so keep that in mind people. Missing days here and there is fine but when you start a guy for a month who is out for the season before you realize it then well you suck

And you of all people should know that free leagues are destined to fail. If folks have no stake in the proceedings, there's nothing to keep them from walking away. This applies to fantasy sports in general.

I do one fantasy baseball team per year otherwise it becomes too much of a time drain. I'm down with joining a TWW league and I guarantee I'll be active.

I was in a 11 or so year league that dissolved a few years back when people starting getting married and what not. The past couple of years it's been Yahoo public leagues and it has sucked balls.

Daily means you can (but don't have to) change your rosters as long as a player isn't locked in (the game has started).

Weekly means you set your lineup for the week, and cannot change it during the week, even if a player gets injured.

No, this isn't like fantasy football, it isn't head to head. We are playing Roto, which tallies up your accumulated stats as the season goes on. Then you get a certain amount of points based on your ranking in said stat. So say you have 12 owners, at the end of the season the owner with the most of a stat will get 12 points and the owner with the least will get 1 point. You add up all the points from each category at the end of the season, and the owner with the most points wins.

EDIT: Changed 'players' to 'owners' so as not to confuse

Sent out the first wave of invites to the initial 11 people. Current settings for the league:

Teams - 12
Scoring - Roto
Roster - C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, MI, CI, 5x OF, UTIL, 9x P, 3x Bench, 1x DL
Scoring - 5 Hitting Stats: AVG, Runs, SBs, HRs, RBIs --- 5 Pitching Stats: ERA, WHIP, Saves, Ks, Ws (thinking of changing Ws)
Limits - 200 Games Started (that means you can only accumulate 200 starts where stats count for SPs), 1000 IP team minimum for ERA and WHIP (so a team can't have 9 relievers for higher in these categories)
Lineups - A player is locked in when his game starts
Trade Deadline - August 10th
Draft - Snake, 90s per pick, Order randomized 1 hour before draft, tentative date March 28 (Wed) @ 8:00pm
