Anyone done the taste testing before? I've been filling out the surveys for a few weeks now and finally was eligible for one. Yay free food 2/17/2012 2:51:14 PM |

Yeah I doubt it'll be enough food to constitute a meal but at least I get a $30 Target gift card for showing up. 2/17/2012 2:54:02 PM |

I, too, have eaten Guinea Pig. In South America (Ecuador). True story.
But I did not get a Target gift card. Fail.

My neighbor raises rabbits for food. I assume you can do the same with guinea pigs

In HS, my AP Bio teacher was a graduate of NCSU's Food Science program. She did taste testing all the time and it wasn't always fun -- sometimes it's butter/margarine.2/22/2012 11:19:14 AM |

What's wrong with eating butter?
But they do tell you upfront what you're going to be taste testing so if it doesn't sound like something you'd enjoy you don't take the survey to qualify. 2/22/2012 11:20:52 AM |

I wanted to try cuy in Peru, but it was always served as a whole guinea pig. I strongly prefer my meat to look like meat instead of the animal it's from.
I did try alpaca, though. 2/24/2012 10:03:06 PM |

Alpaca was OK; didn't try the cuy, because of a mental block due to it coming out on the plate looking like ^ 2/25/2012 7:25:13 PM |
