New Dietary Ingredient Draft Guidance for the supplement industry proposed.
Quote : | "PR Newswire/ANAHEIM, Calif., March 7, 2012
ANAHEIM, Calif., March 7, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — The Alliance for Natural Health USA (ANH-USA), a national grassroots advocacy group based in Washington, DC committed to natural and sustainable healthcare, estimates that between 15,000 and 30,000 nutritional supplements will be permanently removed from the marketplace if FDA is able to implement its New Dietary Ingredient (NDI) Draft Guidance for the supplement industry. “The Natural Products Expo West is an outstanding opportunity for ANH-USA to connect with the 58,0000 attendees of world’s largest natural and organic products trade show and ask them to help protect access to vitamin supplements,” said Gretchen DuBeau, executive and legal director of ANH-USA." |

THIS will get us out of the 25% underemployment we've been in.
Finally someone with some balls puts some legislation/guidance to get us out of our 17 trillion dollar debt. 3/8/2012 3:09:01 PM |

Hey it's logic 101 here
if somebody wants marijuana. get it. in fact subsidize it
if somebody wants an abortion. pay for it. fund it.
if somebody wants some tasty fake sugars

IMO "herbal supplements" ought to be regulated just like drugs; although there are exceptions (like marijuana is a Schedule I drug even though it's all herbal, and supplements containing ephedra are banned), for the most part manufacturers of "supplements" get a free pass on such things as showing, via clinical trials, the safety and effectiveness of their wares, and even maintaining the purity and correct dosage of their products (the level of the active ingredient in an "herbal supplement" can vary wildly from capsule to capsule).
(now FTR I actually support the legalization of marijuana, but even then it ought to, if sold to the public, be regulated so that large vendors must ensure the product is pure marijuana with the levels of cannabinoids promised...I just used it as an example of the rare case when an "all natural" product is actually regulated like a drug) 3/8/2012 9:19:35 PM |

The FDA needs to be hamstrung, not given more power. If it's not scheduled by the DEA due to abuse potential, then it ought to be free reign. The minute the FDA gets their hands on something, the price goes up tenfold. 3/8/2012 9:43:30 PM |

The cost of this freedom is more bullshit homeopathic garbage in the market. Shit that has 0 effectivness. No matter what the price, the value of these products is 1/infinity.
It's abundantly clear that in every market, without regulation, companies will fuck over the citizens.3/9/2012 9:05:15 AM |
