it wasn't as entertaining to me as i was expecting. i was hoping for something like hell on wheels (same time period-ish ) but i fell asleep a couple of times & ended up going to bed before it went off. whoops

does anyone know if they've dramtized the story at all? i read some of the wikipedia page about their feud, and there seem to be some pieces they have changed. for example, the McCoys held Johnse for bootlegging warrants he had in Kentucky. the show depicted them as holding him for knocking up their sister. then again, it is wikipedia so it's not always 100% reliable.

i would just hope that the history channel, of all channels, would follow history faithfully.

well Randolph McCoy's wife's name is Sarah...

her name is Sally in the mini-series...

that's a pretty big liberty...

also Powers Booth's character is Wall Hatfield on the show and it was Preacher Anse in real life...

Wall Hatfield was another cousin who played a minor role in the actual events...


the Rosanna/Johnse thing has some incredible liberties too

yeah i felt there was a little too much mushy-gushy romance...felt like filler after about 5 minutes.

sounds like Part 2 will contain even more romancing.

also...Cottontop is a great character...

one of the most tragic in the true story...

i hope they do him justice through the end

I was entertained and thought that it was put together nicely. It may not be following the story word for word, but, honestly, how could they? I mean, it was probably difficult to figure out the truth back then with the two different stories. This series is noting the major murders that occurred and filling in the rest, which is fine by me. Looking forward to tonight's finale.
