I got mine 2 days before but had to stay outside the city proper. $60/night for dual occupancy with kitchenette and free breakfast and internet (and that year had disco biscuits, big boi, girltalk, and a ton of other big name folk)

hoping for Sigur Ros or Kraftwerk or Animal Collective

feel like there's a good chance at least one of those 3 will be there

I think AnCo is a given at this point, honestly.

Kraftwerk I'm not sure about, but it wouldn't matter, because there's no way I'm not going...

Kraftwerk is the biggest stretch but if they were to play a festival this year Moogfest would be the perfect fit for them imo.

other two are just guesses since they have new albums on the way and members of their bands played it in 2010

moogfest seems to always get shit that seemed like a huge stretch beforehand though...devo, hot chip, massive attack, tangerine dream, suicide, brian eno, etc. shit that just seems to come way out of left field.

that's the only reason i think kraftwerk makes sense

Squarepusher would seem to make sense with US dates right after Moogfest:

They played Ultra in March already, I don't think Moog is that much of a stretch

If lmfao conflicts with nothing interesting I'm totally going. And I'm gonna smile the whole time. And have fun. Judge it.

There's a rumor going around that Gorillaz is playing this.

There was an article on Pitchfork not too long ago where Albarn didn't totally dismiss upcoming projects/shows as Gorillaz.

Yeah it looks like they're fucking this festival up in a pretty major way.

Depending on how much cheaper the tickets are and the quality of the acts it could still work out, but all signs point to fail at this point in time.

Justice is playing on the Thursday before this year's festival. Sounds like it's sort of presented by the people who do Moogfest but is not actually a part of Moogfest. Tix are $37, which is pretty damn pricey for a Justice show. I'll still probably go, I've been wanting to see them for a while.

I wouldn't care in the least if one of around 60 acts for Moogfest was lmfao. I guess I could have said credibility killer to hopscotch in 2010 if that's the case.

i wouldn't care either...

if i wanted to go to that kind of festival.

say, when did this become about hopscotch, though? sounds like someone is a little sensitive about their synthesizers.

Have you never heard or realized that New Order is a heavy influence on the rave scene?

I guess I should have just said that their latter career is pretty bad in my opinion, and if Kraftwerk was still stuck in playing things like from the Mix, then I wouldn't care for that either...

I was unaware that raves included live drums and lots of guitars.
