Vehicle is an 08 Tahoe LTZ that has been making a strange noise that I can't pinpoint. I need someone with a good ear that I can take it to. The sound is hard to explain. When I reverse, let off the gas, and coast there is a low rumble sound. More like a vibration of some sort but I can't feel it on the drivers side. I have had a passenger say he could feel it. The vibration/noise/whatever also consistently occurs when I hit ~1400 rpms and then random other times.

The guys at the GM dealership in Cary are useless. I took it to them and they claimed the tires had flat spots. When I then replied the noise sometimes occurs while the vehicle is idling they had no response or solution to offer.

Any reccomendations? Thanks.

... Anyone really. They aren't very difficult to work on.

I mean they can be a pain in the ass for some things but when your car is one of the longest running models still on the market everyone has worked on one at some point.

Anyone but the GM trained mechanics at the Hendrick shop in Cary apparently.

Transfer case would surprise me. It doesn't jump in corners. I'll feel it though after I drive the next time and change the fluid if it feels hot.

why would it jump in corners? it's not in 4wd. just remove the fill plug and stick your finger in there.
