screen has a crack across it. definitely needs to be replaced.

If its still u der warranty take it to an apple store. They have been known to replace devices for cracked screen.

check youtube. I replaced my Samsung galaxy screen on my own by watching a video. I don't know if iphones are different and somehow more difficult, but you could check and see. I did mine in an evening and it's worked fine for months.
