Wife caved in and I get to wear my Asics pre-birthday. They're comfortable and light as fuck. First time wearing sneakers for non-athletic use since college!

^ why would you do that??

If you don't wear sneakers, please say you aren't one of them flip flop 24/7 dudes.

got a few more pairs of vans slip ons:

some vans ludlows in black:

Also got some new boots but I can't find them anywhere online to post a picture. Brown leather cap toe boots with some felt detailing. Wanted a pair that I could wear casually or to work and these fit the bill.

trying to find some good black lace-up boots that I like. But I don't want to spend too much as I would probably only wear them with black jeans or one of my black or really dark great pairs of jeans now and then. I don't wear black leather hardly at all.

I did find a picture of the other leather boots I got recently. I've received several compliments on them in person so far which has been nice

Got a new pair from Aldo last week. Went to Southpoint mall store trying to change but kept it eventually.

I own these shoes as well. I also find them comfortable and light as fuck.

I actually kinda hate all my new balance sneakers now.

Picked these up at Frye over the weekend. Been eyeing them for a while and finally pulled the trigger.

is the distressing already on the boot? isn't that kind of like paying for ripped jeans?

yeah, the distressing is already on the boot when you get their stonewash finish. I can't do shinier black leather boots. Even a burnished finish is often too much for me and just doesn't look right to me until they are very broken in and somewhat distressed. Which, for a nicer pair of boots, just takes too long for me. For leathers with brown/tan/cognac etc., I don't have that problem. I own lots (read: way too many) pairs of brown boots in various finishes. Can't get enough of them. I rarely find black boots I like and these immediately caught my eye a while back and fit perfectly.

I'd say leather is different than jeans. I prefer black leather very well-worn. But they're still going to hold up. It's not like they have holes in them - it's just surface distressed. This just gets me to that point without having to wear them for a year before I like them.

Other than a black leather jacket, I tend to stay away from black leathers period. Love it on other people but think it looks bad on me /shrug I havent had a pair of black leather dress shoes that weren't patent (for tux wear) in several years now. And I've returned the last few black boots I've bought because I just haven't been into them.

i bought stonewashed leather boots with a distressed toe box. Not including my steel toes for construction site visits, I have like 8 other pairs of brown leather boots and one pair of black that I've worn to shreds and is about ready to be retired. Wanted another black pair that I don't have to take a year of wear to naturally distress back to where my last pair was.

of course This finish wasn't any more than the same boot in the other finishes (suede, burnished, etc.)
