Examples of realistic life achievements for me include learning how to speak Spanish (I'm half Rican), consistently shoot in the 80s, read at least one book a month, dunk a basketball, see 80% of the US States and 30% of the world, be a "master of the grill". The list goes on....
These are just a small sample of realistic life achievements. Obviously these are not life altering events that will have a major impact on my life. These achievements will be something in my life that I can look back on in my latter years, smile, and think "I'm glad that's something I've accomplished."
Some of my personal goals will take a lifetime to achieve and some will need to be accomplished in my younger year. Some achievements will change as I get older and some achievements might never be obtained.
The 1st achievement I will attempt will be to dunk a basketball consistently within the next 2 months. I'm 6' 2", 205 lbs and I can easily grab rim. To accomplish this I'm going to periodically wear ankle weights, do plyometrics (P90x style) weekly and shed a few pounds. I also already play b-ball 3 times per week. A big negative factor will be that I'm half white so I'm going to use Brent Barry and Woody Harrelson as my inspirations. 6/17/2012 10:24:22 PM |

I've dunked before but it's only been in a gym. I play almost exclusively outside on concrete so it's a little more difficult.
I would like to be able to consistently dunk. By this I mean dribbling down the court, dunking the ball and then pound my chest all gangster-like. 6/17/2012 10:35:20 PM |
