Leave it to 2 assholes in a 360 Modena and Mustang GT to rev their engines repeatedly and peel out to get the venue management pissed off enough to cancel it.

New location TBD...

Just read on another forum that Cars and Coffee at Brier Creek is no more due to a massive burnout by a Ferrari owner recently.

OH NOES, WHERE WILL BE DISPLAY OUR COCKS?

reposted from another forum..

Quote :
"This particular email has more of an interest to those in the Raleigh area, but I know that we have a number of members who come up to the Triangle area on the First Saturday of the month to enjoy the show that has become the Raleigh area's Cars and Coffee. Starting next month, we will have to find another location for our traditional First Saturday get-togethers.

The management group at Brier Creek supports the PCA group’s regular, low-key Saturday morning coffee gathering and appreciates our support of Jason’s Deli and their other tenants over the years, and sincerely hope we continue to support them.

Brier Creek, however, is not as comfortable with what has happened with the first Saturday gatherings. It's important to note that there were no incidents, and that the Brier Creek organization is not upset at anyone. It's just that there are too many cars and attendees there to properly manage the event in the space available. They have concerns about the safety and security of the show cars, the people parking and attending the show, and the other patrons who are not there for the show. They are also concerned about liability should something happen.

They have requested that we not show up at Brier Creek on July 7th (only). Their security group will be there to "suggest" that the other car groups find another location. We will do what we can to notify other clubs with whom we have a relationship.

** NOTE ** This should not lead to a "bitch session" against Brier Creek. Yes, they know we are patrons of the businesses there. Yes, they appreciate our business. No, they do not want to alienate us. It's purely an issue with the number of people who are there to show their car and those who are there to look at the cars in the show. The space available simply isn't large enough to handle the success of what started out as an informal get-together."

i dont get how they can just "cancel" the car meets. are they going to ban any and all sports cars from congregating in their parking lot? i dont get what involvement the Cars & Coffee "organization" has with this, is it like a membership with dues and stuff?

what's stopping sports car owners from showing up, parking their cars near each other, and shootin' the shit while claiming to be just a group of people who happened to crave Starbucks that morning?

They're going to have staff there, and if you don't park and then go into a venue they will ask you to leave.

Also this is fine with me b/c Waverly Place is a heck of a lot closer

where? in the parking garage? there's no room there. you get a bunch of show cars in the parking lot and the pristine "inside the beltline" pricks don't have a place to park that show will be over.

Sounds good to me...Not sure where they're holding it, but I'm pretty sure the east end of Waverly is pretty damn desolate too.

Was a good show yesterday. Especially enjoyed the Honda Prelude club

One of my all time fav cars was there...drool. (Not bad for a cell phone camera, right?):

C&C was pretty decent (IMO) this time around. Highlights for me:

-SLS AMG roadster (brought over by some dealership, kinda gay if you ask me)
-2 '63 split coupe Corvettes
-all original numbers matching Barracuda
-2 Pontiac G8 GXP 6 speed manuals

This was the first occasion that I've seen the new 991 Porsche 911 and while it was a good looking car, I was saddened to see how large and luxurious it seems to be. There was one parked next to a 993 911 and the size difference was ridiculous.

Saw a bunch of FRS/BRZs and gave them a pretty close look as this is the first time I've been up close to them.

There is a Starbucks at pleasant valley promenade...you definitely don't have to worry about that parking lot being full.
