I thought the 90 HP 4 stroke and aluminum trailer made it a pretty good deal. What do you think it's worth? 6/25/2012 2:13:27 PM |

worthless to me
it looks like it's been abused. you have to wonder how someone treated their boat when they'll post pics of it that dirty/unkempt in a classifieds ad.
flatbottoms suck. i don't need to explain why again, do i?
i just don't see spending $5750 on something like that when for about the same money you can get a shallow-v center console that'll go just as shallow, ride better, and doesn't have a fucking gas tank under the console.

^ I wouldn't buy a flat bottom boat either, but the people who want them are entitled to their decision. The boat is obviously filthy. Nothing a day with some sand paper, bottom paint, and a polisher won't take care of. I wouldn't enjoy bringing it back, but I wouldn't let that be a deal breaker for me.
There was a 2002 16' Cape Craft with a 50 HP Mercury 2-stroke and a nice set of accessories (trolling motor, fish finder, etc.) for $5k at Lake Gaston the last time I was there. A little dingy below the waterline, but looked good otherwise. I can send pics/phone number if anybody wants to find out if it's still for sale.

dirty itself doesn't bother me. it's just that if you see a boat that's been neglected that bad, then it follows that they probably neglected the engine as well.
don't pay clean price for something in such terrible shape. the control cables are just laying on the floor. the bilge pump discharge is run over the transom with a 2-hole strap. no boot or wire loom or anything on the engine harness. windshield is gone. it's just junk. junk that's gonna ride and handle like a sheet of plywood. 6/25/2012 5:20:08 PM |
