If you hadn't gone to college. In all honesty, I don't think mine would be all that different.[Edited on June 30, 2012 at 9:02 PM. Reason : I probably wouldn't have ever learned about TWW but duck it]
6/30/2012 9:02:01 PM
I'd probably still be in Wilson lol
6/30/2012 9:02:46 PM
completely, would have proceeded to become a car mechanic.... no telling where/how
6/30/2012 9:04:01 PM
I wouldn't be an engineer. I don't know what I would be had I not gone to college. Probably a porn star or something.
6/30/2012 9:07:15 PM
I wouldn't be in a lot of debtI probably would have a "good" jobI might be married
6/30/2012 9:07:38 PM
completely differentI'd be stuck in a rut in my awful hometown, and the only fashion excitement I would have is when Sperry releases a new color or pattern to their canvas boat shoes.
6/30/2012 9:09:25 PM
I expected the mention of a horse. Disappoint.
6/30/2012 9:12:37 PM
6/30/2012 9:13:36 PM
probably enrolled into the militaryand go to bars and beat people upi'd be in jail now with a huge back tattoo
6/30/2012 9:15:40 PM
The two things I liked in HS were drafting and computer programming. I guess I'd be in a machine shop or something, I don't know what you do if you're good at drafting but didn't go to college.
6/30/2012 9:16:22 PM
This query does not compute. Why wouldn't I have gone to college? I would be the black sheep of the family for breaking an expectation set generations ago. [Edited on June 30, 2012 at 9:18 PM. Reason : ]
6/30/2012 9:17:38 PM
Honestly, I'd probably be in the exact same place that I am now. Living in Greenville in what was my grandmother's house, married, and staying at home to raise my kids. BUT there would be a huge difference in the type of person that I ended married to and the types of conversations that I would have on a daily basis. I would have probably married a country boy blue collar farmer type instead of the ultra liberal bookish brain that I'm married to now.
6/30/2012 9:18:56 PM
In dreamland, I would be a sail maker or a maritime captain - though the more choice positions usually require a bach.^that alter life sounds horrid.[Edited on June 30, 2012 at 9:20 PM. Reason : ]
6/30/2012 9:20:03 PM
So you went to college to find a husband?
6/30/2012 9:21:17 PM
Nope. The husband part was just a perk.
6/30/2012 9:23:57 PM
She went to Meridith.
6/30/2012 9:26:10 PM
Hah. NCSU. I met my husband in Sullivan.
6/30/2012 9:28:01 PM
6/30/2012 9:29:51 PM
my job might be the same, but i met my husband at ncsu so i guess that part would be different.
6/30/2012 9:32:53 PM
I would have spent the past two years in Chocowinity, bored out of my goddamn mind. No way on earth I could handle that.
6/30/2012 9:36:47 PM
Ahahaha. Chocowinity.
6/30/2012 9:38:32 PM
A desperate housewife
6/30/2012 10:13:21 PM
I'm one of those guys whom college was made for...I'm really smart, but I'm lazy, socially-inept and a coward. so life without college is difficult for me to imagine. my best guess is that I would've begun climbing the weed-dealing ladder, in which case right now I'd probably be a burnout and/or in jail.
6/30/2012 10:18:49 PM
i would have probably gone to culinary school and gotten a shitty pastry chef job that left me living pay check to pay checkand i feel like i'd be a much happier person in that life :/
6/30/2012 10:26:18 PM
I'd be in jail
6/30/2012 10:26:48 PM
6/30/2012 10:28:04 PM
^I've found it to be the most overrated drug in the worldbut that's probably because I've only snorted coke that had already been cut 9x with powered suger
6/30/2012 10:29:30 PM
I'd probably work for my family in realestate and being a landlord/slumlord on the side with smaller houses.[Edited on June 30, 2012 at 10:32 PM. Reason : ]

my first thought was that i'd be back at home working with (for) my dad...but that's probably not true. my dad probably wouldn't have given me a job if i didn't go to college. basically, i have no fucking clue what i'd be doing right now...maybe something in landscaping since that's partly what i grew up doing. [Edited on June 30, 2012 at 10:56 PM. Reason : d]
6/30/2012 10:54:14 PM
i'd be stuck in gastonia, and not have the awesome friends I have now
6/30/2012 10:56:28 PM
Probably working as a vet tech in Mt. Airy or maybe Winston, rather than having an MPA degree, a husband, and a meaningful job at nonprofit living in the triangle.
6/30/2012 11:04:24 PM
Probably would have joined the air force and would hate my life since I'd feel a lot smarter than everyone else around me.
6/30/2012 11:08:34 PM
Probably would have killed myself. I was so depressed in Warren County.
7/1/2012 4:47:16 PM
I'd have gone into the military. Who knows how that would've turned out.
7/1/2012 5:14:55 PM
probably enrolled into stayed the militaryand go to bars and beat people up continued to get my ass kickedi'd be in jail now with a huge back tattoo
7/1/2012 5:17:04 PM
I'd be in High Point, maybe living with my parents. Or back in Florida. Likely life guarding and/or working at a day care center.
7/1/2012 5:28:46 PM
stayed in the navyretired early
7/1/2012 6:01:04 PM
I'd have probably gotten married right out of highschool, gotten knocked up, then divorced and living in my parents basement right now. Thank God I got into college and left that black hole I call home.[Edited on July 1, 2012 at 6:06 PM. Reason : .]
7/1/2012 6:05:38 PM
Some girls from my high school posted photos last night, and I immediately thought of this threadthat would be my life
7/1/2012 6:05:43 PM
^lol at the television set
7/1/2012 6:36:37 PM
probably either rich or in jail
7/1/2012 6:46:09 PM
ya know, i'm really shocked by the number of "i'd still be out in bumpkinville" responsesin my mind, if you're qualified enough to be accepted to a traditional 4 year university, you are probably smart enough, inquisitive enough and motivated enough to not settle for that kind of life regardless of whether you actually attend a university.it makes me wonder if the mediocrity associated with not going to college is just a self-fulfilling prophecy and vice versa[Edited on July 1, 2012 at 6:57 PM. there's not that many avenues to get out of that lifestyleand it's not like there's businesses that give people chances without appropriate education/experience, either.Simply put, the opportunity isn't there.I would have been military, or I'd have driven a truck.
7/1/2012 7:00:35 PM

I'd definitely be one of those PeaceCorps lifers
7/1/2012 7:28:51 PM
I probably would have worked in an office job that didn't require a degree. Moved up in ranks until it would have necessitated a degree anyways, and had them pay to send me to school.Or, ended up a missionary wife in South America. Either way.

I wouldn't have the understanding I do of computer science which is what brought me above and beyond the "sys admin" role and into the architect role. I never graduated but my time in college taught me a lot about myself and how the world works. I'd also be married more than likely (sheltered to women before college)I also would have never been put in the situation that inspired me to create my software, the "excuse" to leave college in the first place and what really exposed my eyes to the corporate world[Edited on July 1, 2012 at 7:42 PM.
