So I will be returning to State for the 5th year Architecture program in the fall. I have a house lined up on Ramsgate St in Trailwood, and will be commuting to State from there in my S2000. My classes will primarily be in Kamphoefner and Brooks Halls.

Between "Bell Tower Parking" behind the house I used to live in on Maiden Lane, and a NCSU Coliseum Deck Permit (which will cost roughly the same), which would you choose and why?

My primary concerns are ease of access to classes and dealing with as little traffic as possible while parking for a 9:10 class, followed by security.

Thoughts?

I am confused by this thread title

are we fighting in the commuter parking lot after school?

I put battle in there to make the thread title more interesting. Fail. I am trying to decide who to give my money to. Picture works for me, it's just a map though.

if I drove a car that I cared about (nice, to me) I'd put security at the top of my priority list

but, keep in mind, you're parking around college assholes driving their parent's minivan who don't give 2 fucks about scratching shit up with it

The same inherent dangers are most likely going to be present in both lots. Coliseum is more likely to have a hit-and-run, and Bell Tower is more likely to have a break-in. I am not really that worried about it - that's what insurance is for. I plan on getting a hardtop before the semester starts as well.

I normally parked in at the top of the coliseum when I was at State (8 years).

Only got broken into once.....

Yeah, it would be nice to be able to ride from the parking area to class. I used to always (literally) ride to class from the house when I lived on Maiden, right where the Bell Tower lot is. I had the thought of chaining up a cheap bike there for that purpose.

I also had a 10 year old bike with no brakes and no gear selectors (I took them off because they were broken) as well as oval wheels stolen from near the coliseum lot.

Yeah, the bikes I have... I like them. So it would have to be something real crappy and cheap.
