Anyone else playing this?
I feel like the buy menus were designed for a touch screen and are horrible. Otherwise it's fairly solid. I was enjoying the beta but now I get this every time I try to connect to a server:

Oh my have the years gone by... gone are the days of bunny hopping and one shot AWP to the foot. I'm not sure if I'll get this game. Doesn't look like anything new or exciting. Looks like the same game, re-skinned with slightly better graphics.

I'm loving it on PC....not sure if it's just nostalgia or what, but it's definitely a good game. Kinda disappointing that they haven't really added any new maps but I guess if it ain't broke don't fix it. Nice to see that they brought the gun game 'mod' or whatever to the real game with arms race mode. I agree with some reviews in that the interface seems to have been designed with consoles in mind. Joining community servers is odd in that they show you nothing after clicking join, as in whether or not you have to download maps/sounds or whatever. I'm sure it'll get added but sometimes you join one and it takes a while b/c you're downloading things and you have a blank screen with no option to cancel without the console.

I played an arms race match against nothing but bots on decent skill and won and got an achievement for it. Not real keen on being able to get those with bots since you can set them on easy and dominate every round but whatever. I don't play for achievements but it surprised me that I could get them that way.

I too am an old-school CSer. Just DL'd CS:GO yesterday and after putting some time in I like it. Yeah there are some things I miss from 1.6 but at the end of the day it's got the same heart and soul it always did, with some cool new stuff that doesn't get gimmicky.

I don't know why everyone is upset about the buy menus, if you're a PC player you should know the buy keys by heart anyway. The radial menu kinda sucks but I almost never look at it anyway, so it's no big deal

E.g. my go-to on CT for example:
B-4-2, B-5-2, B-1-4, B-6-2
M4, Kevlar+Helmet, DEagle, HE nade
2 seconds and you're knife slashing till the round starts (except no pre-round movement anymore in GO)

The main thing that kinda sucks now is the lack of community server diversity but I'm sure that will grow steadily. Also that the new maps are only available in the demo/arms race modes, which I haven't really gotten into.

I hated that the default gameplay (non-community servers) populates empty slots with bots until I realized that when you die you can take over control of a bot if there still is one. That is freaking awesome. At one point last night was playing 5 on 5 and I was the only real person on my team vs. 5 real guys; whenever I died I just possessed a bot and kept on trucking. Pretty cool for a short time while new people filter into the server

The molotov/incendiary additions are genius, great for temporary battlefield flow control or bottlenecking. And the weapons additions/updates are cool to. I have come to love the PP-Bizon smg for close-midrange situations, actually will buy it over the "better" rifles even when I have plenty of cash.

Seems that ESEA or ESL is basically needed in order to have a good time in CSGO if you are a veteran. http://play.esea.net/index.php Matchmaking is horrible and puts you with really bad people who don't call people, hold positions, or even know the angles.

^I found some forums that had guides on howto enable custom sprays but I was only able to get the old default 'target' spray to work. You have to save images in this custom format and put it in a certain directory but I'm sure after a while it will get easier.

You also have to basically bind whatever image you want to be your impulse 201 image. There was a good guide on the globaloffensive subreddit earlier.

Just got/played it, tried Arms Race. I'd never payed Arms Race before in CS 1.6 or CSS, It was actually really fun.

I was rolling until I hit the sniper weapons. I suck at sniping in Counter Strike Still finished 2nd at least.
