A few friends and I have had this pseudo-contest going on for the movie villain that gives a fuck, just a little bit less than any other villain in movie history. So far we haven't been able to beat The Kurgan from Highlander.

Honorable Mentions:
Ritchie from "Out For Justice"
Naritsugu from "13 Assassins" was REALLY close to beating The Kurgan but his final scene was his undoing.
The Master from "The Master Of The Flying Guillotine"
Stingray from "Undefeatable"

I took "doesn't give a fuck" as does whatever evil/bad things they do without discrimination, with no sensible purpose, etc. The guy from se7en, however insane it was, didn't kill completely indiscriminately. His actions were purposeful. Again, not to say the purpose isn't insane, but just that he did have a screwed up logic (which was very important to the character) that led him to target specific people. I think there is a difference between his character killing people because he thinks he's doing God's work and there is a method to the madness, and a character killing people or doing things simply because they do not give a fuck.

On that note:
Adding the kids in Funny Games... they did not give a shit what so ever. Now that I think about it, they are my top so far. That's actually sort of a tough movie to watch because they give so few fucks.

Yes! This is correct. Just because a villain is sadistic and/or twisted doesn't mean they don't give a fuck. Somebody in this thread said Scarface (or Tony Montana I'm assuming). Tony Montana definitely didn't give a fuck when it came to his brutality, but he most certainly did give a fuck when it came to his motivations for getting ahead in the drug world. I'm looking for the one character who straight up does not give a shit any and all instances that character is given screen time. Granted, every character gives a LITTLE bit of fuck to some degree; otherwise the villains would just be random, shitty characters. The Kurgan only gives a fuck about being the last immortal standing; however, he has no agenda he is attempting to pursue (at least none evident within the running time) and it seems like his only desire is just to fuck with every human being on the planet; being "the last one" merely seems to be a means to an end. His other selling point is his actions throughout and how he treats random characters. He just straight up doesn't give a shit.

I haven't seen Funny Games. I'll have to check it out.

Be forewarned, it is somewhat discomforting at times. There are two versions, a German or Austrian version (the original) and a US version. From what I've heard, they're the exact same movie (same director Haneke, pretty much the exact same script, shots, etc.).

I agree with you generally, but if the guy who started the thread clearly shows some interest in seeing the movie, and then you immediately spoil one of the most unique aspects about the movie.... i think that makes you a bit of a douche bag.

Or perhaps it'd be better to say "since the guy said he would check it out, it would have been really cool of you to not ruin the most unique aspect of the movie in the very next post."
