There's some way to get a 9-3-1 volunteer credential by like phonebaking or volunteering some other way to help. My huasband did that so that he could go. Not sure if they're still doing those or not.

So many people out there wasting all this time using the same tired-ass jokes about the other party, and trying to keep them fresh. You know, I totally hate just about everything that the democrats stand for... but I can deal with that, cause we all have different opinions and all that.

But then every week or 2, I hear one say something that makes me want to just spit in their face. Someone with clearly no life experience talking about how shitty it is that people like me would support a bill taking away/not renewing about 33 billion wotth of food stamps over the next ten years. For a family of 4 that gets about $775 a month in food benefits (yes, you heard that right), they were gonna have to make do with ONLY $700. Heartless fucking republicans.

Because I think this is a great idea, and a good way to save money that could be used for something much more important like teachers or a million other things, I have to sit there and listen to some hipster fuck call me evil and shit.

Then I make the mistake of trying to diffuse the situation a bit, and I say "well, I could get behind letting the good people with bad luck keep their whole amount for a while.... if they were to initiate a massive campaign to identify welfare and benefit fraud, and terminate the freebies for anyone caught buying or selling drugs with their cash, buying unauthorized products with food stamps, trading them for cash, or selling them at a discount to the international markets here in town. Now, in fairness to Obama, he did work to "crackdown" on FS fraud, starting recently.

Did they start requiring IDs to use EBT cards? Did they threaten to jail people who provided 50 cents on the dollar for Food Stamps? Did they start a program to randomly inspect transaction logs to see what stores are letting these scumbags buy beer and cigs with my federal withholding? Nah, they didn't do anything like that. They made it so if you request more than THREE replacement cards per year, you MIGHT lose your benefits without explaining why you lost the card.

But guess what? The guy sighed and said "you can't have a reasonable discussion with a RACIST!" I had to leave, I honestly don't see how these twats can say this shit in public and not get badly hurt. I learned my lesson, though. I had gone against my position of normally ignoring political arguments, and I usually try to keep all that stuff to myself. Plus, I'm a registered libertarian, so there's never anyone to talk to, or anyone to talk about... so I end up supporting the GOP most of the time, cause I don't want to end up homeless.

It sounded like a totally fair plan to me. It saves money for everyone, and it makes it so the good people on government assistance aren't penalized for what others do. Plus, since there's actually a PUNISHMENT now, some of the $750,000,000 dollars that disappears off those cards each year might actually... oh, i don't know... FEED A FUCKING KID! They can even feed black ones if they want, I swear I'm not racist. I'm just sick and fucking tired of being called names and being told I'm evil because I'm sick of these mongoloids giving a blank check to the laziest, worst behaved, and least appreciative people in our society every single month of my life.

I have no idea where you got your figures (a plan to reduce benefits for a family of 4 from $775 down to $700) from.

Walking uptown later today. Jeff Bridges is playing at 4pm. Should be fun. Also going to see Jon Stewart Tuesday night. Working from home all week as I think the secret service took over my building.

I don't know what the big complaints are about. You guys really have serious problems (especially if you live here politics aside) if you're complaining about this type of event in Charlotte. It puts the national spotlight on Charlotte and helps brings more people to the area. This is exactly what the city needs.

The only nut jobs uptown are the ones NOT involved in the conference.

I'm planning on going up a few nights this week to check things out.
