I hate to pile on, but if you haven't found a candidate down the ballot that you could vote for, I'm not sure that you've been looking.

I've abstained from voting in presidential races, gubernatorial races, mayoral races, etc. during various elections; however, there's usually a candidate running for some position that I can find electable.

The Democratic Party says that a woman has the right to choose in regards to her own body. This is the correct position. I believe in the concept of self-ownership.

Isn't it curious that the same party doesn't believe in the right of individuals to put what they want in their own body? Innocent people in Pakistan don't have the right to not be slaughtered by Obama's drones? Those living in Latin America don't have the right to not be victims of America's drug war? Workers don't have the right to keep their earnings?

It's truly absurd - double think at its worst. Democrats acknowledge the concept of self-ownership with respect to abortion, but not in any other area.

The people running our political system (who, incidentally, often operate out of the private sector) don't give a shit about abortion, religion, gay marriage, or any of these "social" issues. These issues are wedge issues. They are issues used to galvanize the common people and create the illusion of choice. You can choose your master, but you cannot choose to be free. You cannot choose to stop the injustices that occur domestically and abroad; both parties wholeheartedly endorse those policies.

Don't allow yourself to be manipulated. Voting for the lesser of two evils is still voting for evil. It grants legitimacy to a system that is anything but.

I'm aware that this parade of suits is poorly written theater intended to manipulate the public. If you really really really are interested in beginning to educate yourself...

Start by reading or rereading the Constitution if you haven't done so in the last 5 years.
Remind yourself that the Constitution tells the government only what it CAN do. Everything else is off limits. That is written in the Constitution, also.


Then read the Patriot Act, NDAA, and Obamacare and count how many Constitutional Amendments they nullified.

Then read the execution orders that Obama passed since 2011.

I think those abolish 6 or 7 amendments.

Then understand that the judicial system has the authority to interpret the constitutionality of those laws, which they've done and they have stood (for now).
