See the man in the bottom corner?

These are stacks of $100 Bills.

We are sixteen of those in debt.

Still think our country is going to get out of debt?

showing the size of the cash it would take is absolutely pointless.

yes "absolutely pointless". completely pointless. no point whatsoever.

even though $100s are our highest denomination of bills and yet there seems to be a "shortage" of money where we need to print more and more and more

false

first of all, i can tell by the pixels, as i've seen a few photoshops in my time

but lets say they are stacks of $100 bills

are they bound by money wraps? i don't see any other way loose bills would be able to be stacked so neatly without some type of wind blowing them askew, even in a vacuum...but its obviously not a vaccum if thats a real person in the corner

second, what are those gaps aka gridlines? are those palettes or something? if they're any type of gaps that aren't actual money, that photograph is disingenuous at best

also patently false...why bring up the $100,000 bill when i could just as easily prove you wrong by bringing up the $500 bill

They're in space, duh. Can't you see all the white around them. Located right next to a supernova. Gosh

This means nothing to me. If you could have shown me $1T worth of pizzas stacked up, we might get somewhere.

If you don't think our nations debt is important or realize the enormity of it then you are an idiot.
http://www.usdebtclock.org/

Look long and hard at those numbers. Se how much you personally would have to pay right now to get the US out of debt. Look at how many citizens actually pay taxes.
We have too many freeloaders in this country and this shit aint free.

I believe that we have too many people who reap the benefits of this country without contributing their fair share to the infrastructure and social programs that helped make it great.

this is so old.

why don't you go ahead and post the whole infographic if you bothered making the thread?

pretty cool results:

this is an amazing one, but not the same:

also not the same, but nice:

Come on guys, the debt clock is just a tactic to scare all us suckers. We shouldn't worry about how much we spend.

How many times would a single stack go to the moon and back?

If we are that much volume in debt, why don't we just print larger denomination bills so that our debt shrinks? Or use smaller sized bills? Seems like a pretty easy solution to me.

^ well that's kind of the plan. The real rub is if we pay interest or not. Still, only a matter of time before inflation fixes the problem for us.

It's probably not safe for that man to stand there, there doesn't appear to be any strapping or supports so the stacks could fall on him and crush him.

We aren't.

Guess what happens then?

The government still has bills.

If your paycheck comes out of the government's account, then the government needs money.

Since you're not paying for it,

they have to get the money from somewhere,

that money comes in the form of the Fed printing more money

which causes your money to be worth less each and every paycheck

that means there will be no retirement for you because money in the bank will be worthless by the time you retire.

It's complicated, I know.

You practically have to be Jewish to understand the Federal Reserve, Banking, Saving, and Debt.

I lived through hyperinflation, so I know exactly what that means. I've seen neighbors cover their walls with paper bills, because it was cheaper than buying wallpaper. I've bought groceries with $1M bills.

That's why the only thing I have in the bank long term is debt. When those dollars devalue, I win. Social Security will be counted in tomorrow's dollars, if I ever get to use it. Take every extra dollar you have and spend it today. Buy property. Start a business (or on the second thought, maybe do not start a business ), go on a vacation, have a kid, do something that will either increase the quality of your life TODAY or provide your tomorrow with some tangible appreciating assets (land), cash income and equity (direct investment into business) or [almost guaranteed] futures (decent kids)
