that's when you need a big sous vide tub. just have them all sitting there at about 125-130 deg and then sear and bring them up to final temp to order.

but liking anything more done than medium rare is a mental thing with "blood".

"Why is it that almost every time I go to Hooters the the waitress always ends up talking to me about her problems?"

Hooters' prime draw as an employer is that it allows women to sexually exploit themselves for the chance of large tips from ogling diners. I'm sorry these women have spoiled your meal and burdened your concsious with the reality of their existences. Also, you got friend-zoned by a Hooters waitress.

^It didn't spoil my meal. Anyway, I've had female and male servers at all sorts of different places, but I don't know that I've ever had any of them tell me about their problems, or failures in life like Hooters girls seem to do.

Then again, there was that time that the waitress at Waffle House on Highway 42 in Johnston County told us about the time she tripped on acid at Mule Days in Benson. She said she had to carry her friend's baby because he was too drunk to carry it. She said it felt like the baby was falling through her arms.

We have this Japanese manager in the top circles of my plant that came over a few months ago. He's in charge of our company-wide cleaning standard (5S) and member-level maintenance standard in addition to his normal department management job. He tries to inject humor into all his emails and presentations, mostly along the lines of weird Japanese sutff.. the kind that has my co-worker and me in stitches as we make up Godzilla-esque Engrish reactions.

Anyways, here's part of his latest attempt at funny:

Check the orangutan, LMAOOO

He quickly sent out an apology with updated graphics

I took a new job and when I get through with training I will be given a company truck with a gas card to drive from home to work everyday. That means way less miles will be put on my personal car.

Trying to design a mechanism, couldn't think of what kind of spring to use (literally have never used one in a design at this job). Spring manufacturer shows up randomly with a box full of samples.

Started a new job today! It is all outdoors, so I sweat off a lot of weight today and got sun burned! This is the lightest I have weighed in a long time! The previous job was in a climate controlled environment, so I gained some weight there.

Just got my second raise of 2019. I'm up 20% this year, with hopefully another 2.5% on top of that from the Legislature starting next month. Overall my pay is up nearly 90% over my job that I left in January of 2018. Worked eight years in previous job and I only moved up 15% total. As a state employee I feel like this shit doesn't happen often but I'm damn glad for it!

Also could afford optional insurances this year due to salary increase from previous job. Kid got hurt at school in March (dislocated knee) and had an ER visit and some PT. I paid for almost all of it and put a little bit on a payment plan. Forgot that I had accident insurance until two weeks ago. Submitted that and easily got more back than we paid out.

Office just sent out an email that we will go ahead and be closed on Friday July 5th as well and anyone who had already requested the 5th off as a vacation day will get that day back. I'll take it.

how were you able to swing that? doesn't anything over 4.99% require additional extra-agency approval? unless there was a domino effect of people leaving and sliding up to backfill, I'd say that's extremely rare although I did see a guy go from university business officer (~$50k) to assistant dean ($125k) in under two years because of a ripple effect of people leaving.

My initial hiring had to be approved by the BOG. After that the minimum required to trigger the BOG is now over 10%. Apparently the BOG got bombarded every time folks got a raise so they raised the threshold to greater than 10%.
