I'm rebuilding the cylinder head on my riding lawn mower (a gift from my neighbor who performed very minimal maintenance) and am seeking suggestions on the best way to clean, degrease, de-carbonize the head. I've ordered pretty much all new parts for the head but want to maintain the head itself. Thoughts? If it was back when I was in the CFCC auto shop I'd dip it in a Varsol bath but that isn't an option in my garage.

it's a lawn mower

soak it in something and scrub that bitch. machine shop is overkill. you probably could just spray some carb cleaner in there and that's it
