so on my work computer I clicked on a thread that was nsfw but not tagged as nsfw.

what do you recommend to clear that off my machine so I don't get in trouble with the IT dept. I do have full admin access on my machine.

If you have centrally managed IT, clearing your browser cache isn't going to do shit.

If not, just clear your browser history and cache.

ctrl+h -> clear all browsing data

then for next time:
ctrl+shift+N to open a new incognito window, browse this site incognito

Webpages that you open and files downloaded while you are incognito aren't recorded in your browsing and download histories.
All new cookies are deleted after you close all incognito windows that you've opened.
Changes made to your Google Chrome bookmarks and general settings while in incognito mode are always saved."

Your IT department gives you local admin rights but cares about a random titty pic in your cache?

in most cases, i'm sure they only care if it turns out that there's a problem or complaint about the employee

you're missing the point, anyway...no one was saying that IT folks were watching your every move and were just waiting to pin an NSFW pic on you, just that you can't do anything covering your tracks if it's a centralized situation

There are a number of centrally managed IT solutions that monitor all incoming and outgoing HTTP traffic, and auto-trigger based on URLs, content types, reverse image lookups and several other analysis methods.

Just an FYI. Unless you work for a large company though, its pretty unlikely.

have some dignity and quit your job. nobody should have to fear retribution from an employer over some shit in their cache. if you stay, you're condoning it and forcing other employees into the same situation.

yeah but I like having money so I won't be doing that. I just need to not click on chit chat threads on my work laptop.

Exercise caution! Also, to be safe, set entire building and IT staff on fire. Also off-site data recovery site needs to go up in flames too. Damn cloud computing.

make money somewhere where you don't have to put on a diaper and put a pacifier in your mouth.

I'm oh so sorry that megacorps feel the need to shield themselves from legal liability (sexual-harassment suits, data-leakage, etc.).
