A friend just called to ask if I can fix something on his car--

says it's accelerating really slowly, as if working too hard, from start and thinks it's not shifting gears properly. Fluid level is fine. I'm thinking it might be the TC lock-up failing to disengage

Then told me it threw code T1744, which upon brief google search turns up a TCC failure and/or low-pressure trip

I've never done any work on an auto trans and am not inclined to on someone else's vehicle, but he was quoted $1300 (i.e., totaled) for what may be a simple solenoid replacement. If it's just swapping out the solenoid and/or relay I can knock that out in a jiff for him unless it's located somewhere obnoxious but I can't find much about it for his specific vehicle online.

Anyone shed some light? Much appreciated
