Anyone been playing this? It was released by Capcom for free on Monday. For those who aren't familiar it is an all new 8-bit Megaman where instead of facing robot villains he fights different characters from Street Fighter. It's just as hard as the original Megaman games (even to the point of no save or password system). As far as I can tell it is only available on PC but obviously since it is 8-bit has very low system requirements. It does accept gamepads for controllers. Soundtrack is awesome too.

Best thing I've seen all year.
Hopefully the difficulty is authentic.

^Difficulty is definitely up there, complete with enemies respawning when you go back to a screen and instant death if you touch spikes. I will say that the individual levels for each boss are kind of short but the boss fights themselves are super hard. I'm sure it's just because I haven't found their weaknesses yet but Blanka and Dhalsim absolutely devastate me when I get to them. 12/19/2012 12:01:04 PM |

I'd heard complaints that there's no save/restart mechanic. Is that true?
I downloaded it last night, but I haven't gotten a chance to play it yet. 12/19/2012 12:15:04 PM |

No saves, no password system, its just a fan game Capcom "authorized" so they'd have something to release for the 25th Anniversary since all they've done since Inafking left is cancel Mega Man games. I won't be playing it on general principle, even though it's "free" (easy not to charge for something you had no hand in making, Capcom) 12/19/2012 1:03:29 PM |

Who pissed in Forte's Cheerios? Capcom pissed in Forte's Cheerios. 12/19/2012 1:19:33 PM |

It does have continues but that is about the only mercy you'll get. Think Megaman 1 but you are able to charge your buster cannon and slide. 12/19/2012 1:30:54 PM |

Ugh, got my ass kicked. I tried using the 360 controller, but you have to use the analog stick. 12/19/2012 8:52:34 PM |

It's awesome, gonna take some serious effort to beat. Thanks so much for posting.
***SPOILER***
So far I beat Blanka first (had to use the E found in his level) and then used his weapon to beat Rose (also used the E from her level). The beginning of Rose's level is a total throwback to the boss levels of Legendary Wings which is great! I haven't figured out who Rose beats yet, Dhalsim didn't seem phased by it. 12/19/2012 10:02:00 PM |
