We are trying to find someone to take our 1 year old lab mix (we think she's mixed with one of the Spitz breeds). She's a sweetheart, and great with kids, but not so great with cats.

http://raleigh.craigslist.org/pet/3494721658.html

The CL ad is asking for a rehoming fee, but we don't really care about the money. We just want to see her go to a good home. We don't want to put her in a shelter, but she's getting more and more aggressive with the cats.

So you want someone to pay you to take your dog because you want to keep your cats and not the dog?

Seriously, go fuck yourself.

If the fee doesn't mean anything to you, then why do you have it in the cl ad?

We've had the cats much longer. We like them more.

We have a fee in the CL ad because apparently CL doesn't want you to post pet ads for free (as evidenced by them deleting an ad years ago for my husbands snake.)

Get rid of your cats. All they do is eat, sleep and shit in a box. Tell your cat to go fetch.

The fee also filters through the crazies.

How, after having a kid, are you still so fucking hateful? Seriously, take a damn chill pill. Also, a rehoming fee usually deters people who aren't really sure about getting an animal, or who would get it and do something terrible to it or just not take care of it. I see nothing wrong with getting rid of one animal because it may potentially kill the other.

^having kids doesn't make people less hateful. if anything, some people become more hateful.

OP, if you have the dog next year...say....june...I'll take it.

Rehoming fee? What in the what? Is that normal, that seems ridiculous.

Lots of people have rehoming fees, to make up for things they have had done to the pet or whatever, like microchips and neutering and stuff, but mainly it is to deter people who don't have the money to take care of a pet and also I think craigslist requires it.

It's called taking a loss on something that does not work out. If you care about the dog finding a good home, then interview the potential owner and feel them out rather than require a fee. I would love to have this dog if my current dog got along with other dogs, but unfortunately, he does not.
