The same thing happened with Columbine. The initial reaction to immediately cover every detail of the story resulted in a narrative of events that was constructed mainly of hearsay, half-truths and and misinformation. It took years for police, investigators, researchers and writers to put together an accurate narrative of what happened that day and why.

It'll be the same thing for Sandy Hook, as time goes on and more is understood, the narrative will change.

yup, i remember reading my twitter feed that day and seeing death toll numbers ranging between 4 and 30 and everywhere in between, followed by corrections, then more corrections..

not to mention getting the shooter's identity confused with his brother, stating his mother was a teacher at the school and he went there to kill her, while she was actually dead at home, etc..
