I need to install a new video card in a small form factor Optiplex 9010 because we don't have any DisplayPort-capable monitors and using DP to DVI adapters kills the on-board card's ability to use three displays (two DVI monitors and a VGA TV). Any recommendations on what card I should go with?

a 57xx or newer amd video card. it will require an active minidp to dvi adapter (~$25) to connect the 3rd monitor. just make sure it supports eyefinity

Here are my current specs:

Radeon R7 200 series
Windows Version - Windows 10
System Memory - 24 GB
CPU Type - Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4820K CPU @ 3.70GHz


So why the AMD card? I already ordered the 970 from amazon, but i could always return if i'm really making a mistake.

The 970 is a good choice. The only REAL disadvantage is that it only really has 3.5 gigs of VRAM that is usable and not the 4 gigs that it states. But, that's not really a big deal unless playing at 4K. I personally have always been a NVIDIA guy but really, both are great. The 970 should do just fine if you're at 1080 or maybe even 1440

SSAA is simply super sampling. It basically takes the image displayed on your screen and smooths out the jagged edges from the pixels. The higher the resolution, the less you really need it. Its very taxing on a video card and uses a ton of VRAM.

SSAA is usually something that you can turn on and off in the game settings itself. I prefer MSAA because in my experience its less taxing. I also game at 1440p and really don't need it but hey, if you can still push the frame rates why not?

You don't need it at 1440p. At 1080p, I would suggest using it.

Can't speak for many cards, but just a word of warning on the NVIDIA 780TI - pretty damned good card but there are potentially some significant driver issues with Windows 10. I had to RMA mine. Maybe it was the hardware - certainly possible. But I'll never know - they just sent me a 980 SC in replacement. Just a heads up.
