Jordan Staal #11, 6'4" 220. Signed to a 10yr/$60MM deal in July, Jordan is a sizable sumbitch on the ice. After being relegated to a non-scoring role behind two decent centers in Pittsburgh, the baby bird will finally get time to fly, likely playing w/Skinner and Dalpe.


Alexander Semin #28 6'2" 209. Immediately becomes the filthiest shot to every wear a Canes sweater, this ENIGMATIC RUSSIAN gives this team scoring depth for the first time since 2006. Watching his abuse of goalies on youtube is enough to give any hockey fan a lil chub.


Kevin Westgarth #8 6'4" 234. Princeton alum and Bill Cowher's son-in-law, Wesgarth likes to punch people. We need a guy like that.


Dan Ellis. #31, 6'1" 191. Backup netminder who's played well in Charlotte and might FINALLY be a decent backup for Ward. In all likelihood, we'll trade him to Philly like we do every player we get tired of.

Tickets just went on sale 60 min ago. I tried to buy the $10 cheap seats...
for 3 tickets in section 334 on ticketmaster the total is $102.60

I checked on the canes website and there's no mention of the 99.9 the fan promotion any more as far as I can tell unless you want to buy season tickets in that section for $240. It's gonna be one empty season in the PNC for hockey if they don't bring those back. With the price increase, it really doesn't seem to me like the Canes are trying to bring people in.

On the flipside, cheap tickets are very cheap on stubhub, so I guess there's always that for those in the know.

334 is South end, those aren't 9.99 seats. Also, it is "game week" already, meaning any promos (outside of the 50% off with promo code ITSTIME) aren't valid.

edit: May be worth noting in July during "Select a Seat" that most of the $9.99 pricing zone was sold out. Don't know how much got cancelled, but doubtful there's much up there to be had at all, so maybe they canned the promo so as to not disappoint droves of people?

Tickets in 334 and the rest of the South End Zone actually went up a few bucks this year, probably to offset the cost of expanding the $9.99 zone on the other end.

I have received 5 different Canes ticket emails about the opener in the past day and a half despite having unsubscribed to every single mailing list they could possibly have. They are nothing if not persistant. I've seen at least two more codes in addition to the one above making the rounds for half off tickets.

9.99 section is definitely sold out via season tickets. it was mentioned in an earlier email to season ticket holders regarding the use of vouchers.
