if Eli Manning gets to be elite, if Flacco wins the Harbowl, he gets to be too

just think, if not for Foxy going for 2 on every score in the 2nd half and getting Kasay'd on the last kickoff, Jake Delhomme would have a SB win and winning playoff record.

I'd be a lot happier if I never heard the discussion of "is (insert QB here) elite" again. I could turn off ESPN and probably accomplish it.

Historically speaking, absolutely.

Quote :
" agreed, pocket passers like Steve Young and John Elway"

Young and Elway are hardly the mobile QBs as defined by today. They relied on their pocket passer skills first and foremost. Neither were speedsters, but were mobile enough to move around to extend the play a few more seconds.

Dynamic passing offenses seem to be the direction the NFL is moving. But I believe that a great defense and a QB that can manage a game are still the keys to long term championship success.

I'd take Alex Smith over Kaepernick. Smith is a field general who doesn't make mistakes and can make the plays that are needed. Smith might not have ran it in from the 20 when the play broke down during the superbowl like Kaepernick, but they probably would have ran Frank Gore straight a gimp ass Ray Lewis four times on that last 1st and goal instead of relying on some kid who played 7 total games in his career to make plays with a shortened field.

Plus Kaepernick is kinda black. Black QBs don't win anything. (inb4 Doug Williams)
