It's no surprise that TN has two of the top 3 with Knoxville on top. The way they lumped cities together though is a little odd though.

I'm surprised to see Charlotte, Asheville, and the triangle area as more religious than eastern NC and all of Texas.

MA, NY, and New England in general seem to be the least bible-minded.

I live in Asheville... It's mostly Baptists and hippies/eclectics. Mind you, most hippies are actually very religious.

Perhaps its a Catholic thing (referring to areas like Texas border regions, New Mexico and Saint Louis)? I'm certain Catholics believe in the Bible and all, but the depending on the way the question is worded, it could have language very strongly biased toward evangelical protestants.

There seems to be some overlap in this poll with that "bible-mindedness" poll unsurprisingly with New England being the least religious and the south being pretty religious.
