"Barber was a better scorer than Lewis for like the first month of the year. Now they are the same...which is horrible. Barber was actually making some jumpers and finishing at the rim...now he's bricking everything and makes about as many layups as Lewis does.

I don't know how you can say with confidence that he'll improve to be better than Lewis. He's got the physical tools, but Lewis already has the point guard's mentality and the vision and passing skills. Barber looks like a lost kitten out there. He's going to have do a complete 180 to get past Lewis right now. And if Lewis does a 180 on his wide open threes...then I don't ever want him off the court unless it's for last minute defensive switches."

Barber didn't regress as such. The competition improved. Because ACC play.

Tallest midget argument...they're both midgets...it doesn't matter. And Barber is a gunner...so I'd rather not have his sorry shooting ass jacking up shots and dribbling the ball off his foot.

I'm not sure Lewis will develop into a serviceable pg at this point.

He's one of the worst defensive players I've ever seen. It's basically 4 on 5 out there.

Evtimov still holds both the single season and career acc records for pulling the ball out of the net after his man scores on him and he was much better defensively than tyler lewis

barber is ass. you either have it or you dont as a pg and he doesn't. the only hope for him is that he becomes a passable combo guard which is completely realistic in college but it's almost impossible to learn bball iq as a college player. honestly the only player I can think of that looked as lost as him that turned into a good PG was noseland smith and it took him 3 years and he was never as bad as barber

lewis' problem is that he has "it" but absolutely nothing else. we have 2 mcd aa pg's and if you combined the best attributes of both you still wouldnt even have a 3rd team all acc player

I mean...if you gave Lewis Barber's athletic ability...he'd be pretty awesome...he just still couldn't shoot.

But the whole "defensive liability" thing would be out the door.

Hitting his stride at the perfect time. He played like a McD All-American tonight.

The Duke board was giving him mad respect. A heel fan got on their and asked what makes Lewis so good. I lol'd at one of the responses:

Quote :
"The Ring in Tyler Lewis's pocket grants him the power of invisibility so that he can disappear at anytime he chooses."

Mark from Step by Step grew up and learned how to play PG last night. It was impressive to watch.

The announcer last night confused him for Warren on a play.

This kid is unbelievable, not to mention he NEVER turns the ball over.
Imagine what he'll be like a senior. Runnin' the show like a boss.

Looking forward to next year after he builds more strength

He really struggled against a team that could guard him tight. His lack of quickness kills in the press. He can get so much better and I hope he does.

I don't think it had anything to do with how they guarded him. He's been guarded "tighter" this year. He just made some uncharacteristically bad decisions.

amazed me that we never looked to attack their press. Even when they weren't fouling we were passing backwards more than forwards. Everyone just standing around waiting for someone else to make a play.

We attacked it once with Turner (when he dragged his pivot and walked...and they didn't call it) getting the ball to Warren for a quick lay-up. But I think we just didn't want to fuck up. We wanted to get fouled and shoot free throws. Too bad we couldn't make our fucking free throws.

Did not see this coming after he earned the starting spot late in the season. Thought Gott finally figured out a way to juggle both Lewis and Barber's playing time and maximizing their abilities. That sucks

Same thing I said about Purvis: If he doesn't want to be here, good riddance.

AAU mentality would appear to strike again. If everything doesn't go your way, screw it, find a new team.

Maybe he just doesn't want to be a backup for most of the next 2 years. He must know that Cat was gonna take over.

I spoke to Lewis on the Wolfline to Avent Ferry the other day, and he said he was just sick and tired of being ragged on by face and The E Man. He said the discussion about letting Jevoni get some of his minutes was also pretty hurtful. Thanks, guys
