Is yours real or fake?

Saw the OTL report where the NFL is cracking down on fake jerseys.

I personally have 2 "game" jerseys who were purchased for me. (Nike has the game, limited, elite versions)

Why pay 200 for stitched jersey, when you can get a china man to make you one for 20?

(not sure if this is the right section, but I figured I would stick it here)

here is the OTL:

I have 3. One is original sold from the team store but I got it for $5 because it was a former sucky player. I'm going to have the nameplate changed. One is an eBay knockoff I got for like $20. The third is an original but only paid $90 for it.

This is why I loved when I was in Korea, they had a few jersey store right outside of base, 20-30 bucks a pop

From a hockey standpoint, the knockoffs look like shit. I'd rather wear a tshirt than the pieces of shit you see some folks wearing at the RBC Center

Got a few knockoff jerseys that I'm relatively happy with. They don't look perfect but they are well put together.

Instead of buying that shit, why dont you just save your money and buy a real one that wont fall apart or look retarded. There are definite differences in quality vs an authentic jersey

The only thing I asked for Christmas a few years ago was a brand new Jacsonville Jaguars jersey (best team in all the land). Once I opened my present, I immediately knew that it was counterfeit. I put on a FAKE smile and thanked my parents for giving me everything I ever wanted.

not sure if this is what you're talking about, but they tweaked the shade of blue a few years ago...my legit authentic steve smith jersey has a slightly lighter blue color than my legit authentic j-stew jersey from a couple years ago

^^ why is that worse than grown ass men wear clothes with another grown ass man's name on the front of them?

For example Ralph Lauren.

I bought some soccer ones on a lark around 2003. They were $10 and looked fine, but the cut was awful. Nothing like even a regular t-shirt, let alone an "athletic fit"-style shirt or jersey.

Because the ones I have seen look very similar to the real ones and haven't fallen apart. I bought the woman one just to test the site and see what she would get and its still in good condition and she loves it.

exactly. You're repping your team, not showing how stupid you are by spending 1-200 on a jersey because you want that authentic jersey.

for 20 dollars, its a risk worth taking IMHO.

I have a Cam Newton knockoff and I can't tell the difference until after I washed it. Some of the stitching came out but other than that, who cares, I saved $200

that's different. the counterfit versions are trimmed with Carolina Light Blue. I have a Clausen jersey i bought out of Hong Kong for $25. The Panther patches on the arms are colored correctly, but the number, cuffs, and trims are all light blue. I've never worn it to a game but see tons of people with the same type at every game.

I'm yet to see a Canes knockoff that isn't at least one of: wrong jersey color, wrong font, or wrong font color.

However, I've got some hockey knockoffs at home that look pretty darn good.

Why does the US Government want to prevent people from having the freedom to make a living? These other jersey makers are just taking advantage of the market desire for cheaper jerseys. You people want to tell kids they have to pay $90 for an official jersey that the NFL forces the Government (a corporate-government collusion that YOU should be worried about) companies to make a certain way? You're a jerk.

I have 5 jerseys. This is my favorite one. It's a throwback from the 90s.

i've purchased a few major league sports jerseys over the years. the counterfeit ones while cheap in price are cheap in product and craftsmanship. i bought a knock-off NY Giants Cruz jersey and it was horrible; i ended up just giving it to my brother cause he didn't care. i've gotten a NY Yankees knock-off too and that was pretty good in comparison to the legit one, the only noticeable difference was under certain lights the white fabric wasn't as white as the legit jersey.

knock-offs are way too hit and miss so i'm just going legit from now on. the best way is ebay or craigslist and find an authentic legit jersey for dirt-cheap. last year on ebay i found an authentic premiere NY Rangers Lundqvist jersey, which retails for over $150, for $50. brand new condition. best deal ever.

at the time when i got it, the Lundqvist ones above were over $150, i think close to $170. they don't even have them available on the site right now. this was all done back in August/September so prices i know have changed some.

and yes, i know about the $300+ jerseys, i'm not talking about those.

The new Reebok hockey jerseys have like 4 different tiers. The ones they actually wear on the ice are crazy expensive and then they go down in price as they remove the different "performance extras" like moisture-wicking fabrics replaced with cheaper polyester, etc. although they still look the same.

I think my Canes jersey is a CCM from Kohl's, how do I tell if it's a knock-off or not?

I always envision the typical grown man who wears jerseys to fall in one of two categories.

wannabe rappers/thugs who also tend to wear their flat-billed hat with the sticker on cocked sideways

or

overweight middle aged dudes

I've got a knockoff Staal jersey that I bought 3 years ago that was ~70 iirc, but you'd never in a million years know it was a knockoff. I've compared it to my coworker's jerseys when I go to games in our box and have even compared them side by side and cannot tell a difference.

Granted, I paid $70, not $20, but it was still a great savings. I'm beginning to wonder if it's not a knockoff and just "fell off a truck"...

so it looks like they've changed "replica" to "premier"?

Also, I think guys wearing basketball jerseys (especially white guys) is a bad look, but hockey jerseys are more acceptable, probably since they're not tank tops

yea like i said I spent $20 on jerseys from several different sports like hockey, baseball, and football...

i even have some replicas bought at full price and i can't tell the difference...

a lot of complaints on here about "screen print" and "letters/number falling off"... I'm not calling you liars, but that sucks. Mine are in perfect shape after several years and several washes. We need to find yall the "right" counterfeiters

I've attended numerous sporting events from NASCAR to cricket, I've never felt the need to wear a jersey.

I'll agree that hockey jerseys are more acceptable, that's it though

I haven't worn a jersey to a Panthers game since the Stephen Davis days and I go to every game. I just don't like wearing a jersey. But I always wear my Braves jersey when I go to Braves games. I think it's the fit, more like a t-shirt, not cut wide and long with long sleeves like a football jersey or hockey sweater.

It does seem to be more widespread in hockey than other sports from what I have noticed that a huge percentage of the crowd seems to be wearing jerseys. I have no idea why that is.

When Reebok fully took over all the CCM lines, they changed everything within reach, from jerseys to goalie pads, to the new "Premier" line that Reebok was pimping in their running shoes at the time.
