Are you looking for companies that participates in the networking business space, or companies with jobs for network engineers? If the latter, are you looking for lab work/administration stuff or development/R&D stuff?

Probably R/D stuff. Yes, network/software engineer.
I've been in this area for nearly 10 yrs, focusing on intelligent and networked system designing.

Extreme has been hiring regularly lately, check your PM.

Also check out Nimble Storage. Several former NetApp colleagues of mine are over there now. They just opened a decent sized office near the Sheraton Imperial and are hiring for a few software engineering positions and tech support.

I've been trying to land a technical writing position in RTP since there's normally a pretty high concentration there. I notice a lot of recent openings asking for Javascript and C++ which I'm not used to seeing requested of documentation and technical editors, might be a special circumstance.

...unrelated to the thread I guess.
