I recently picked up the Bose QC35's.

They're pricey as hell, but I absolutely love them. Wireless is amazing, and they have perfect clarity for phonecalls (I do a lot of conference calls for work while on the road/working from home) and the sound quality is pretty damn good.

Battery life is absolutely bonkers. Literally, they will last you weeks before having to recharge them if you're not using them all day every day.

The only gripe I have is the "white noise/active noise cancelling". You can definitely hear it when there's no audio playing. But I'd totally buy these again. Also, they're super comfy.

I bought them and promptly returned them to BestBuy and got my P7's.

Here's my spiel on Bose. The audio quality (music specifically) has gotten better but I wouldn't put them up there with B&Ws, Sennheiser, some Sonys, etc in terms of over the ear quality. Having used/owned the 25's the 35's are an improvement. I think they're slightly over priced at $350.

My biggest complaints are they still feel "cheap" and are made of plastic. My QC25's broke and I've read reports of the 35's eventually breaking too. If I'm paying over $300 for headphones I want metal and leather.

Also yes the active NC I can't stand. It's great on a plane but I still believe it ruins the audio quality for me. I'd rather use my Shure's with passive noise isolation and get far superior audio quality with a little engine rumble in the background.

If the #1 thing you want is awesome active NC then get the Bose. If that's secondary to you there are many better options out there for over the ear headphones (B&W's or Sony mdr-100x).

My P7's FEEL nice. They're leather and metal and just look classy AF:

I have Bose Quiet Comfort 25s. Great to have on a plane, which is really the only time I use headphones. Decently portable.

so far love the mdr-1000x minus the microphone when using them as a headset - that's not their primary or intended purpose by me but they'll definitely be used for that from time to time

What are some good ones nowadays? My earbuds are fine but mess up my earwax production.

I've almost got them a few times. Hear they are better than the xm5. I should have got them when they were 129 new

$129 new? Wow. I thought $198 on sale was a good price.

They quickly pair with my phone, tablet, laptop and TV. Haven't tried a phone call with them yet. Supposedly 30 hour battery with noise canceling turned on, and 38 hours without ANC turned on.

Listening to Nance/Romo on these is neat. Can pick up sighs and breathing and sniffling etc.

Only thing I'd say about these is if you plan on working out in them, they'll probably at minimum slip down your head if you're doing bench press. Incline bench would be ok but if your torso is parallel to the ground, they're not great for that. The headband will slide down your head causing the ear cups to move a bit. Minor gripe though. Otherwise, great sound quality.

I have the 2nd button (the non power button) set to Google. I just hold down the button and say "play such and such on YouTube music" or whatever.

in the Sony Sound Connect app, scroll down to Device Settings, change the tab at the top from Sound to System, then tap the gear icon below Change function of [CUSTOM] button. I can either select Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa. Not sure if Siri is supported.

These are going to be relegated to flights at this point and even that is tenuous the way I feel about these after like around 2 weeks. Ears get hot, not comfortable long term. Tonight noticed leaving right side off to side and listening to left was more enjoyable. I literally live with airpods in my ear pretty much. Xm4 not going to work like i had hoped. Airpod pro 3 in 2025 going to be awesome I bet

[Edited on December 26, 2024 at 1:43 AM. Reason : And highest volume not that high? Just totally sub par to airpod pros]

Have you tried turning the ANC off? Obviously any OTE headphones are going to be hotter than buds, but to me it doesn't really get too warm until I've warn them for like 2+ hours.

Can you post your equalizer? I did the thing where I select which numbers i like the best. When I was done I ended up unknowingly picking everything in the middle

Custom button, however i can touch and hold right ear muff to summon siri

Thanks, will do the number thing again and see what numbers i need to get there. I feel like with too much base it almost takes away too much from the actual music or something

One of the best things about these headphones is they have good low, mid and high sounds. Beats headphones, for example, have a lot of bass which takes away from the mids and highs. Even with having the Clear Bass at +9 it doesn't seem to overwhelm the higher sounds.
