we lost to them because 4 out of our 5 starters had 4 fouls with a substantial part of the game remaining. We couldn't play correct defense which allowed them to shred us from early 2nd half to mid-2nd half. Also, Wake plays substantially better at home than on the road(they almost beat Duke at home and they DID beat Miami at home). Not to mention we had a 12 pt halftime lead and had chances 1 ft away from the basket to tie that didn't go in(CJ got sent into the 4th row on one of em).

pretty sure our defensive effort was horrible when we played them at wake. we also let one of their freshman get a career night against us (as usual). Even with our sloppy play we only lost by 2 despite 2 botched attempts at a game tying bucket at the end.

I like our chances at home, i can easily see a 15+ point win here. The game is also on my bday so i'm hoping for nothing less than a blowout

Posting that Skip Prosser stuff is fucked up and unnecessary. Outside of Cock Puncher and his cheating ways, I never had any issue with any of Prosser's teams.

As for this game, we should win by 15+. WF is pretty damn awful on the road. Still cannot believe we lost that game in Winston though. Vandy played the worst 8-10 min (or whatever he played) of basketball in history that night. Please stay out of Fowell trouble this game State...

Vandy actually contributed more in that game than he has in the rest of his career, minus the Arizona road game his freshman season.

And about Senior Night...to be fair, last years senior night was against a good Miami team when we were fighting for our NCAA lives. We needed our starters on the court every second of that game. I think we could get away with Jay Lewis at the 2 until the first dead ball against Wake.

Miami and UVA could say the same thing. Wake almost beat Duke in Winston too.

That said, Wake typically a different team on the road. Barring CJ Harris going off like he did against Miami, this shouldn't be too difficult. We just need to find a way to stop Devin Thomas down low. That guy had a field day against us last time.

It's not so much that we lost to Wake Forest, they are decent team at home and have beaten or almost beaten some good teams. It's the fact that we blew a 20 point lead, gave up like million points in the second half, and then choked on three straight opportunities to tie or take the lead. It was basically a microcosm of our entire season. Stretches of brilliance accompanied by infuriatingly poor defensive effort and inability to close out games against inferior opponents.

And clearly rflong didn't watch the first half of the first Wake game cause Vandy was quite good. Go back to the game thread and there's pics of kangaroos all over that shit. For some strange reason though Gott didn't play him at all the second half even in spite of the good play and our need to sit our bigs because of all the foul trouble.

Actually I watched Vandy get fucking abused on defense repeatedly by being out of position just like every game he plays. Stop apologizing for the guy, he is simply walk-on material and should only play in blowouts.

Okay I'll eat crow after looking at the box score. I do wonder what his +/- was for that game because I seem to remember him being on the court as Wake went insane there for that stretch of the 2nd half. Maybe I am just confusing it with some other game. My mistake. GG vandy, hope you play well on Wed too if you play.
